Property Description for 606 Lincoln Place, 2

A stunning, oversized beautifully renovated full-floor apartment with a flexible layout and sunny, separate home office on a charming tree-lined street at the nexus of Prospect Heights and Crown Heights, moments away from Prospect Park, The Brooklyn Museum, beloved Franklin Avenue and the 2, 3, 4 and 5 trains with service to Manhattan. Bathed in glorious light from open exposures and oversized windows throughout, the 2nd Floor at 606 Lincoln Place is a rare, spacious and versatile home in a charming brownstone on a coveted Brooklyn block.

Entered off of a private landing, the 2nd Floor features high ceilings to complement a massive parlor which can either be used for entertaining or a loft-like bedroom with a separate office space. The office and parlor overlook Lincoln Place through a pair of large double-hung windows, drawing in warm sunlight from over the tops of the handsome prewar buildings across the street.

The large home office is surrounded in windows and beautifully secluded in relation to the rest of the home, perfect for a serene and sunny work-from-home setup, a windowed dressing room or extra sleeping area. There is another room on the opposite side of the floor that faces South onto townhouse gardens with a deep setback, excellent for use as an entertaining area or alternatively as a sleeping area. The residence is serviced by an expanded central bathroom located off of the foyer and clad in striking veined tile with an oversized vanity and glass-enclosed shower.

The windowed eat-in kitchen is stunning, newly renovated with high-end finishes including custom beige cabinetry and granite countertops. There is an abundance of counter space and cabinet storage and a fabulous suite of BRAND NEW STAINLESS STEEL appliances: refrigerator/freezer, a gas range and over, and mounted microwave. Beautifully sunlit, the kitchen has a double sink and is exposed South with space for a breakfast bar.

Built in 1899, 606 Lincoln Place is a beautiful specimen of elegant pre-war brownstone architecture with unique features owed to its vintage. With only three residences in the building, residents enjoy the peace, privacy and flexibility associated with brownstone living as well as the convenience of a prime location in one of Brooklyn's most coveted neighborhoods. Prospect Park, The Brooklyn Museum and The Brooklyn Botanic Garden are truly minutes away, as is the vast array of fabulous cafes, restaurants and lifestyle amenities (including dry cleaners and a laundromat with FREE pickup and delivery!) along Franklin Avenue. For those who desire/need easy access to Manhattan, the 2, 3, 4 and 5 trains are by all definitions right around the corner.

Cats are permitted with approval, but dogs are not.

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
