Property Description for 320 East 42nd Street, 705

Welcome to Tudor City, where pre-war charm meets Midtown convenience. Apartment 705 at the iconic Woodstock Tower is a sun-filled, furnished studio with north-facing casement windows offering open views of Tudor City Greens and the Atrium. CityQuiet windows have been installed to ensure maximum sound insulation. Whether you're seeking a first home, investment, or pied- -terre, this thoughtfully upgraded residence checks all the boxes.

The kitchen has been tastefully renovated with sleek, modern cabinetry and an efficient cooktop. It has also been expanded to maximize functionality, and there's even the possibility of converting the closet next to the kitchen into a space for a full-sized refrigerator. The bathroom has been updated, and the apartment features four large closets, original hardwood floors, and a portable A/C unit with a window cutout that keeps your view unobstructed.

Maintenance is just $912/month - one of the lowest in the building - and it includes electricity, heat, and hot water.

A rare bonus: the current mortgage is assumable at a 3.375% interest rate. Inquire for details.

Woodstock Tower is a full-service, landmarked Tudor-style co-op with a rich history dating back to the 1920s, developed by Fred French as part of the original Tudor City complex. The building offers a 24-hour doorman, live-in super, grand double-height lobby with stained glass and ornate woodwork, laundry room, fitness center (membership required), bike/storage rooms (waitlist/additional cost), and a landscaped courtyard.

The co-op is pet-friendly and allows co-purchasing, gifting, guarantors, parents buying for children, pied- -terre, and subletting (with board approval). There is a 1% flip tax paid by the seller.

Located just minutes from Grand Central, with easy access to hidden gardens, river views, and a private community feel, Apartment 705 is a rare opportunity to own a piece of one of New York's most charming residential enclaves.

Some photos have been virtually staged. Showing by appointment only.

Tudor City | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Compared to other New York City neighborhoods Tudor City is a bit different. For starters, it's not very big. And technically it's not a neighborhood, it's more along the lines of a residential enclave of Tudor style buildings and parks. Even with the large neon sign boldly exclaiming the enclave's name, Tudor CIty is still a little tricky to find.

Located on the southern edge of Turtle Bay, Tudor City borders Murray Hill and lies on a low cliff which is just east of Second Avenue between 40th and 43rd Street. It overlooks the grounds of the United Nations along First Avenue and the East River beyond.

Tudor City is considered one of the world’s first skyscraper apartment complexes. This was considered a remarkable feat in 1929. Early marketing material, aimed at the middle class, described the development as well-planned, well-built, and well-priced housing. Developer Fred F. Finch designed Tudor City to keep middle class residents in Manhattan as many were fleeing the city for the suburbs.
