Property Description for 127 Cooper Street

127 Cooper Street is a meticulously renovated two-family townhouse nestled on a quiet street in the heart of Bushwick. Spanning five expansive levels, this turnkey home blends timeless elegance with unique Boho Chic charm-creating interiors that feel both soulful and sophisticated. Soaring ceilings, rich Brazilian Walnut hardwood floors, oversized windows, and artfully curated finishes bathe each residence in natural light and airiness. At the heart of each home lies a thoughtfully designed chef's kitchen, perfectly outfitted for lively dinner parties or intimate evenings in. Both residences enjoy private outdoor sanctuaries, offering a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor living.

Upper Duplex:

The upper duplex welcomes you with an expansive great room, anchored by a charming fireplace and offering abundant space for both relaxation and productivity, with room for multiple lounge areas and a sunlit office nook. The living area flows effortlessly into the timeless and modern open concept kitchen, complete with crisp, white Carrara marble countertops, a porcelain tiled backsplash and custom white cabinetry with abundant storage. The kitchen is outfitted with high-end appliances, including a Kitchen Aid dishwasher, professional-grade Kitchen Aid five-burner gas range, vented stainless steel range hood, and Kitchen Aid refrigerator-all perfect amenities for cooking expansive meals.

The open floor plan continues into a charming dining area, bathed in natural light from large windows and sliding doors that open to the private garden below. A spacious half bathroom with black-and-white tile and sleek silver fixtures completes this level.

Ascend the floating wooden staircase to a sunlit bedroom level with four generously sized rooms and two spa-inspired full bathrooms. The oversized primary suite is a tranquil retreat, featuring dramatic ceiling height, exposed wooden beams, and warm natural textures for character, charm and serene comfort. The en suite spa-like full bathroom includes a rain shower and large dual vanity, making getting ready for the day a pleasure. Atop the home, a private roof deck offers sweeping 360-degree views, ideal for morning coffee or sunset gatherings. Additional highlights include central air, ample storage, and a washer/dryer hook-up for modern convenience.

Lower Duplex:

Spanning the garden and cellar levels, the lower duplex is equally inviting and thoughtfully laid out. The entry opens into a stylish open-concept kitchen, appointed with sleek Caesarstone countertops, porcelain tile backsplash, and custom cabinetry. Top-tier appliances, including a Whirlpool gas range, Whirlpool refrigerator, and Frigidaire dishwasher, ensure the kitchen is as practical as it is picturesque. A central island with bar seating creates a natural hub for entertaining and everyday connection.

The adjacent living room offers an intimate and cozy vibe, enhanced by exposed brick and oversized windows. Two sun-filled bedrooms overlook the garden, each offering generous closet space. A centrally located full bathroom completes this level, styled with black and white mosaic tile and a deep soaking tub.

On the lower level, a sprawling finished cellar provides endless possibilities-a home gym, screening room, artist studio, or playroom. With its own full bathroom and washer/dryer, it's as convenient as it is versatile. Out back, a beautifully landscaped private garden is framed by lush greenery. With plenty of space for dining, lounging, and play, this urban oasis is designed for everything from peaceful morning coffees to festive summer evenings under the stars. An elegant owner's duplex with income-producing residence, 127 Cooper Street offers flexibility, design, and investment value, delivering timeless appeal in one of Brooklyn's most exciting neighborhoods.

Located in Bushwick, 127 Cooper Street is surrounded by green spaces and exciting retail and dining options including Maya Fusion Cafe, Witching Hour, and Purgatory to name a few. 127 Cooper Street offers easy access to the L, J, and Z trains and multiple Citibike Docks within blocks.

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
