Property Description for 101 West 12th Street, 12-R

Gut renovated, south-facing, view-oriented two bedroom (could be three bedrooms) ready for its next lucky owner. The "R" line in the John Adams is the largest natural line in the building, and rarely do they come up for sale. Enter the apartment into a foyer area with dual coat closets, storage, and a beautiful powder room with marble vanity and lime-washed green walls. Follow the long gallery entrance into an enormous living and dining area with incredible south facing views. The apartment is perfectly perched for a picturesque view of the Village and all of downtown, with all iconic buildings immediately visible. The kitchen has been fully redone and features Fisher Paykel appliances, a window, a bar and pantry storage. Just off the living room is a cozy and incredibly bright corner den/media room, with built-ins and a custom couch. With tons of seating and spillover space, the apartment is perfect for entertaining and every-day living. The secondary bedroom is en-suite, featuring a fully renovated bath with marble flooring and subway tile walls. The primary suite is enormous, enough for a separate sitting area, built-in desk, and king-sized bed. The current owners renovated and created a huge primary closet with custom built-ins for ample storage. The bathroom has a stall shower and new fixtures throughout. The apartment has new hardwood flooring, electrical, lighting, automatic shades, and central air. Located on idyllic West 12th Street and Sixth Avenue, The John Adams is a full service, smoke free, pet friendly co-op with 24 hour doorman, live in super, newly upgraded roof deck and hallways, bike storage and central laundry room. Gifting and pied-a-terre allowed. Purchasing in trust case by case. Sorry, no co-purchasing or guarantors. 80% financing allowed. Sublets allowed 2 out of 5 years after 2 years of initial owner occupancy. Broker/owner.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
