Property Description for 190 Moffat Street

Welcome to 190 Moffat Street, a beautifully maintained and tastefully updated 20-foot-wide × 55-foot-deep original brick two-family townhouse located on a tranquil, tree-lined block in the heart of Bushwick. Brimming with charm, character, and flexibility, this legal two-family home is configured as a spacious 4-bedroom / 2.5-bath owner’s duplex over a 2-bedroom / 2-bath garden apartment, offering the perfect balance of comfort and income potential.

The parlor level of the owner’s duplex is gracious and sun-filled, with two separate living rooms, a formal dining area, and a stylish galley kitchen with abundant cabinetry, generous counter space, and direct access to a lush 30+-foot backyard—ideal for entertaining, gardening, or quiet morning coffee. A powder room adds convenience to this thoughtfully laid out level.

Upstairs, the primary suite boasts a walk-in closet and en-suite bath, while three additional bedrooms, two more full baths, and in-unit laundry complete the upper floor with ease and functionality.

The garden-level apartment features a private entrance, two true bedrooms, two full baths, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and ample storage—perfect for rental income, guests, or multigenerational living.

Beyond the home itself, Bushwick is one of Brooklyn’s most dynamic and creative neighborhoods, beloved for its mix of art, culture, and community. Just a short stroll away, you’ll find local favorites like Clementine Bakery, Nowadays, Ops Pizza, Sally Roots, L’imprimerie, and Father Knows Best. Grab coffee at Cafe Moca or Dweebs, or explore nearby galleries, boutiques, and vintage shops. With easy access to the L and M trains, you’re minutes from Williamsburg and Manhattan, yet surrounded by the authentic, tight-knit vibe that makes Bushwick truly special.

Whether you’re looking for a charming end-user residence with income potential or a smart long-term investment, 190 Moffat Street offers space, character, and location—all in one of Brooklyn’s most sought-after neighborhoods.

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
