Property Description for 143 Ave B, 3-C

Christadora House – A Rare East Village Loft Opportunity It isn’t every day that a home like this becomes available at the Christadora House — one of the most beloved and historic buildings in the East Village. With Tompkins Square Park as your front yard, this loft is more than just a place to live; it’s a lifestyle. Step inside and you’ll immediately feel the openness — soaring 14-foot ceilings, sunny southern light streaming through oversized windows, and hardwood floors that glow throughout the 1,200 square feet of space. This is the kind of home that inspires you to slow down, host friends for long dinners, or hang your favorite artwork on walls that were truly made for it. The king-sized bedroom area with two large closets (and overhead storage) flows naturally into the expansive living room. There’s space here for everything: a dining table for twelve, a comfortable work area, and cozy corners to curl up with a book while the park’s trees sway outside your windows. The kitchen was designed for people who love to cook and gather — with Bosch appliances, a five-burner stovetop, wine cooler, deep sink with disposal, and plenty of counter space to spread out. A beautifully tiled full bath and a lofted mezzanine for a guest room or home office round out the thoughtful layout. Living here also means peace of mind: 24-hour doorman, live-in super, elevator, laundry on every floor, bike room, and a pet-friendly environment. It’s a place that truly feels cared for — and ready to be personalized with your own touch. And when you step outside, you’re instantly part of one of New York’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Tompkins Square Park, with its community energy and one of the largest dog runs in the city, is just across the street. Cafés, markets, and restaurants are all around you. This isn’t just another apartment — it’s a rare chance to live in a home that reflects both history and heart. East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
