Back on market with a motivated seller.

This one is for the dreamers, the preservationists, the romantics, and the ones that want something truly move in ready. Watch the light travel throughout the day, as it creates subtle prismatic color changes along the architectural curves.

1 bed beauty with a fresh new kitchen that keeps all of the neo-Georgian majesty the Berkeley is known for. This massive one bed is filled with architectural delights including a sunken living room, a dining platform, graceful arches, original built in shelving, cast iron tub, a dressing room and more. This home is larger than many new development 3 bedrooms. The original hardwood floors are in excellent condition and have many years ahead on them. There are west, east and northern exposure making for a steady and graceful glow throughout the day.

The kitchen sports a Bosch hood, a new Blomberg counter-depth refrigerator to maximize space, a new Forno 5 burner gas range with convection oven and a dishwasher. Walnut countertops are echoed in the stylish overhead fixture. Chic leather cabinet pulls warm up the space and the mixed metal motif keeps this gentle reno both playful and elegant at the same time. The handcrafted zellige bejmat tile backsplash amplifies the light with a subtle shimmer as the eye travels.

The bedroom is massive; a California king could easily be situated with a full complement of furniture. Between the bedroom and dressing room there are 3 closets, as well as a walk-in and a coat closet in the entry way, for a total of 5 functional storage spaces to keep your clutter at bay.

The classic b&w tile of the bathroom whispers of old New York in the best way, and the large cast iron tub and shower stall have been freshly glazed and refreshed for you. A large bronze rainfall showerhead makes your home a spa like retreat.

New windows have been installed this year, and the building has an A for energy efficiency. The Berkeley is a well-run community with a devoted fanbase.

The building has laundry in the basement, full-time super, bike storage and additional storage for rent, but can we talk about the garden? The gorgeous interior garden is shared with the 2 other buildings that make up The Berkeley, and it is well tended by the community.

Pets are welcome with some restrictions, please inquire for specifics. All open houses are by appointment only.

Monthly assesment of $97.50 with a terminus in January 2029.

Jackson Heights | Queens

Quick Profile

Jackson Heights has one of the most diverse populations in the city, and over 100 languages are spoken here. With this cultural diversity comes supporting restaurants, bars, shops and cultural opportunities. It is a mix of commercial and residential properties. There is a wide range of shops and service businesses, so that anything you would need, from a barber, to a pharmacy, to clothing, and food is available right in the neighborhood, no matter which culture or language you might need these services provided in.

Jackson Heights has three nicknames, based on micro-neighborhoods with the neighborhood as a whole. Little India occupies an area on 74th Street, while parts of 73rd Street are known as Little Pakistan. Little Columbia is along 37th Avenue.

A large portion of Jackson Heights has been designated as an historic district, from Roosevelt Avenue to Northern Boulevard, between the east side of 76th Street to the west side of 88th Street.

Jackson Heights was a planned community, where the first “garden apartments” were created in buildings constructed around central gardens and green spaces that gave neighbors a place to meet and socialize with one another, created places for children to play, allowing light to come into the apartments and air to flow freely through them. These gardens are private and only residents have access to them. Passing by the buildings, you might not even guess the gardens were there, as they are not generally visible from the street.

Additionally, there are some mid-rise apartment buildings. Some of these are rentals, some are co-ops, and some are condos. There are a few attached row houses that provide housing for one to three families.

As much as Jackson Heights might be full of noise and mix of cultures, it also has a quieter side, where the various cultures mix and mingle and learn about each other against a backdrop of beautiful architecture and a culinary landscape that brings the world to Queens.
