Property Description for 49 East 4th Street, 1-A

A Townhome Feel With New Dev Loft Finishes Introducing the Garden Duplex at 49 East 4th Street in Windsor Terrace — a boutique condominium of just six residences, a rarity in Windsor Terrace. Residence #1A spans nearly 2,000 ft² and is a legally designated 2-bedroom (currently used as a 3-bedroom), 2.5-bath split-level home featuring a private garden and a generous, sprawling lower level that also has access to the garden and features a half bath and laundry. Every detail in this home has been thoughtfully curated, especially the chef’s kitchen, which is appointed with top-of-the-line appliances, including a Stainless GE Cafe Series 24" dishwasher, 30" Viking gas range, Bosch 36" refrigerator, and 30" pull-out range hood, all complemented by elegant Riobel fixtures. Soaring 10’ ceilings and a wall of oversized windows across Northwest and Southeast exposures make this garden floor apartment uniquely bright and thereby expand the living area seamlessly to the bluestone patio. • STORAGE INCLUDED: Basement Storage is 8'D x 7'W x 7'H. Peaceful yet vibrant, Windsor Terrace is perched between the two major green spaces of Brooklyn, Prospect Park and the iconic Green-Wood Cemetery, which give this enclave a pastoral and suburban feeling. The friendly and active community enjoy a variety of playgrounds and dog runs that make outdoor living in the city actually enjoyable. Excellent subway and bus connections (F/G at Ft. Hamilton and the B69/B67 on Greenwood Avenue, and 3 Citibike Banks!!!) make commuting a breeze. Ample street parking adds convenience. With diverse education complexes and health and wellness options, Windsor Terrace is a perfect place to put down roots. Cozy work-friendly cafés, and excellent dining options abound along Prospect Avenue, Prospect Park West, and Fort Hamilton Avenue — all within a 5-minute walk from 49 East 4th Street.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
