Property Description for 88 Greenwich Street, 1023

Are you searching for a 1BR with a nice view, space, and great closets? You’ll find all three in apartment #1023 at the Greenwich Club condominium. Situated on the building's southwest corner, this large 1BR home has views of NY Harbor and oversized windows that flood the space with all-day sun. A spacious entry hall, lined with closets, greets you on entry: High ceilings and rich, warm-toned maple flooring create a pre-war feel, but modern touches abound. Enter through the generous hall, with plenty of space in the foyer for a table, and a double coat closet. An additional linen/utility closet outside the bath is a great bonus. Preparing meals is a pleasure in the open kitchen, with its handsome maple cabinetry, creamy white marble countertops, and backsplash that integrate beautifully into the main living area. A large window frames the view of the Verrazano Bridge while you cook! A Sub-Zero refrigerator, Fisher & Paykel double drawer dishwashers, and a Viking range get the job done in style. Eat at the counter, or place a table in the spacious living/dining room. The bedroom faces west onto quiet Washington Street and offers two deep closets. The elegant bath features a grey and black striated marble surround, dark lava stone floor, a tropical rain shower head, and a Kohler soaking tub: a dark maple vanity and pretty glass shelving truly make the space your sanctuary. Residents at the Greenwich Club have exclusive access to top-notch amenities, including the library, featuring a grand piano and a wall of books, as well as valet service for housekeeping and dry cleaning. The building's lounge, known as the Harbor Room, located on the 24th floor, has a full kitchen, cable TV, and stunning views of the Hudson, New York Harbor, and the Downtown skyline. All common spaces are Wi-Fi enabled, and the property features an on-site business center and cold storage for residents. There is a laundry room on every floor. This great apartment is easy to show: call or email me today to schedule a private tour!

Financial District | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The Financial District (FiDi) today is a bit of a hybrid neighborhood, as the residential component continues to grow in an area that has been historically dominated by the financial and insurance industries. The residential experiment, which began more than two decades ago, continues to evolve in an area with a large concentration of older, large office buildings. Developers have taken to these aged buildings and have re-positioned them as residential properties. In turn, the public spaces, services and retail establishments needed for a thriving residential neighborhood have followed making this an important destination for city residents.

Since 2000, the residential population of the Financial District has nearly tripled in size from about 23,000 residents to more than 60,000 inhabitants. Many of the residential pioneers to FiDi were people attracted to the lower rents in the neighborhood, particularly the post-collegiate crowd. While the millennials still maintain a large footprint here, there are plenty of families that now consider the Wall Street area home.

Many of those that live in the Financial District walk to work. If you reside here and need to commute elsewhere, the transportation from here is about as good as it gets. Express trains can take you to Midtown, either east or west, in twenty minutes. Brooklyn is but a single subway stop away. There are also ferries across to Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.
