Property Description for 250 West Street, 8-H

250 West Street, 8H -

This classic Tribeca loft located at 250 West Street captures the essence of downtown living in one of the neighborhood's most desirable buildings.

Residence 8H offers a balanced and intuitive flow, centered around a generous great room that unites classic character with modern elegance through the living, dining, and kitchen spaces. Two full-sized bedrooms, two and a half baths, and a spacious multipurpose room, ideal as a home office, den, or guest suite, complete this home's versatile layout.

Stepping inside, the sense of scale immediately sets the tone. Ceilings that rise over eleven feet and broad, open volumes define the space, giving it both presence and lightness, a hallmark of authentic loft architecture.

The expansive great room seamlessly connects the living, dining, and kitchen areas, ideal for both relaxed gatherings and entertaining on a larger scale. The kitchen blends craftsmanship with functionality, featuring custom Poggenpohl cabinetry topped with quartz counters, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, and Bosch appliances . A sizable center island anchors the room, offering generous counter space for culinary adventures and casual seating that makes cooking and conversation effortlessly intertwined.

The primary suite is generously proportioned, designed to feel both refined and private. Its five-fixture bath features hand-laid imported marble and elegant finishes throughout. A considerable walk-in closet offers dressing-room scale and thoughtful organization. Positioned on the opposite side of the residence, the second bedroom functions as its own private retreat, complete with a large ensuite bath and ample closet space, an ideal split layout for separation and comfort.

Wide-plank floors, a stackable washer/dryer, central AC and extensive storage throughout complete the residence.

Originally constructed in 1906 as a grand warehouse, this 12-story landmark underwent a careful restoration and conversion in 2008 by the El Ad Group and GNA Architects. The design seamlessly blends pre-war architectural detail with refined modern finishes.

Residents enjoy an extensive collection of amenities, including a 61-foot swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, private residents' lounge, and separate library. A children's playroom offers space for creativity, while 24-hour doorman and concierge service, on-site parking (subject to availability), and valet options provide ease and convenience.

A beautifully landscaped rooftop terrace with sweeping city and river views features a sundeck, dining area, and lounge, perfect for entertaining or relaxing outdoors. Pets are welcome.

Situated directly across from Hudson River Park, residents have access to the waterfront's many attractions, including playgrounds, a miniature golf course, and beach volleyball courts, offering a rare balance of tranquility and city vibrancy.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
