Property Description for 300 East 59th Street, 607

Renovated to an exacting standard and presented in pristine, turn-key condition.

A Light-Filled East Side Home with Cinematic ViewsResidence 607 at The Landmark is a beautifully renovated home where every inch is considered for smart living.

Four generous closets - including a 10-foot-deep, fully customized walk-in - ensuring everything has its place behind closed doors.A wall of double-paned, pin-drop quiet windows frames sweeping views of the Queensboro Bridge and the Roosevelt Island Tram gliding past - the kind of vista that defines a true New York apartment.

The 18 foot open living and dining room flows from a center-island kitchen to a clean-burning fireplace - a dual-sided centerpiece anchoring both the living room and the primary suite.

The kitchen pairs crisp white cabinetry and a matte tile backsplash with premium appliances: a Bertazzoni gas range, Fisher & Paykel refrigerator, and Bosch dishwasher. With seating for two, the island becomes a natural place for coffee or tea in the morning, and conversation in the evening.

The primary bedroom is generously proportioned, with paneled walls, motorized Hunter Douglas shades, and the customized walk-in. The en-suite bath includes dual marble-topped vanities with glamorous vanity lighting, a glass-enclosed shower, and towel warmer.

A flexible bonus room off the foyer works as a home office, nursery, gym, or guest space. Currently outfitted with a custom Italian Murphy bed (easily removed), it's enclosed by a glass sliding door and finished with a ceiling fan. A second full bath with a deep Duravit soaking tub sits just outside.

Additional upgrades include Caesarstone window sills, app-controlled thermostat that allow you to manage the temperature remotely while away, custom PTAC covers, eight-foot doors, motion-sensor lighting, abundant electrical outlets, striking contemporary light fixtures, and wide-plank hardwood floors throughout.

The Landmark offers one of the East Side's most beautifully landscaped roof decks, a modern lobby, on-floor laundry, and direct garage access with Zipcar. Two pets are welcome. Buses are at the door, with multiple subway lines, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's just blocks away.

Sutton Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Sutton Place is usually described with favorable words like charming, cozy, great neighborhood, hidden gem, sanctuary, or even small village inside a big city. Those descriptions aren’t from real estate folks either, they’re from the people that live and work there, so it must be true.

The quiet and upscale neighborhood is more like an enclave. It’s bounded by East 53rd Street to the south, East 59th Street to the North, First Avenue to the west, and the East River to the east. Most residents will tell you that everything you’ll ever need is located in the neighborhood. When it’s time to venture out into the cityscape, Sutton Place is within easy reach to Midtown and cultural attractions like the Museum of Modern Art, Rockefeller Center, Central Park and other iconic sites.

Manhattan has always had notable celebrity residents. But for unknown reasons, Sutton Place has had more than its share of superstars over the years. Some of the more iconic celebs include: Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller, Freddie Mercury, Sigourney Weaver, Joan Crawford, Michael Jackson and sister Latoya (Just for one summer).

Sutton Place is named after Effingham B. Sutton, a shipping merchant and entrepreneur. After hitting it big in the California gold rush, Sutton built brownstones along East 57th and East 58th streets with aspirations of making the section more residential. Poverty and crime dashed his dreams. The street gangs that hung out along the dead-ends and cul-de-sacs added to the neighborhood’s decay. Sutton was about to give up on his development endeavors but the Vanderbilt’s and the Morgan’s showed up in the 1920s and transformed the neighborhood. It soon became a wealthy enclave.
