Property Description for 252 Seventh Ave, 9-D

Available for the first time...Welcome to a modern, quiet home and elegant entertaining space in the heart of Chelsea. This spacious 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath condo has been fully renovated with designer finishes and attention to detail. Every element of this 1,934 square foot space with 11’ ceilings has been thoughtfully designed and the layout, proportions, light, and quiet make it a truly rare find. The generously proportioned entry hall provides a warm welcome, and seamlessly separates gathering and entertaining spaces from bedrooms. The large, loft-like living and dining areas with north and west exposures as well as captivating city views feature thoughtfully designed custom cabinetry that provide versatile display and storage space. The expansive open kitchen was meticulously designed for a serious home chef with an open island concept, substantial workspace, abundant storage, JennAir appliances (including a sleek, black interior refrigerator), and caesarstone countertops. Completing the design is a graphic Heath Ceramics tile wall that was featured in House Beautiful. The inviting primary suite was designed with form and function in mind. A comfortable sitting room connects to an oversized bedroom via pocket doors and a vintage stained glass window offering a unique architectural feature to the space. The bedroom has a large walk-in closet and a spacious five fixture bathroom with a double vanity, soaking tub and west-facing window. Work, read or unwind in a warm and enveloping den/office complete with custom shelving & cabinetry that feels far away from the hustle and bustle of New York City. Completing the elegance and appeal of the space are custom lighting and window treatments, California Closets, and a Miele washer & dryer. A space with these proportions, design details, finishes, warmth, and quiet rarely comes on the market. The Chelsea Mercantile is a full-service building with a 24-hour doorman, gym (personal trainers allowed), children's playroom, landscaped roof deck with dining facilities, bike storage, garage access, and more. *A storage cage will transfer to the new owner. **Some photos have been virtually staged.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
