Property Description for 70 East 10th Street, 17-R

Renovated Designer 2-Bedroom at The Stewart House Greenwich Village

We are thrilled to present this rare, architect-designed, fully renovated 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom residence at the iconic Stewart House, ideally located in the heart of Greenwich Village. This exceptional home is a true design masterpiece, where every detail has been thoughtfully curated to create a sophisticated yet livable modern retreat.

The elegant floor plan unfolds seamlessly from the entry into an expansive corner living and dining space, complete with a dedicated breakfast area. The seller meticulously removed dropped ceilings throughout the home, restoring them to the concrete slab above and creating a striking chic industrial aesthetic with dramatic scale. Oversized picture windows in every room bathe the apartment in natural light all day long and frame enchanting western and northern skyline views, stretching from the Grace Church Steeple to Union Square. At night, the city lights provide a truly magical Manhattan backdrop. Ebonized parquet floors and a custom built-in entertainment system further elevate the apartment's refined style.

The open, windowed chef's kitchen is both functional and visually stunning. Clad in stainless steel, it features a large center island with wine storage, fluted glass custom cabinetry, a Miele range and dishwasher, and a glass-front Sub-Zero refrigerator. The adjacent breakfast area enjoys bright corner exposure, while the formal dining area easily accommodates gatherings of 8-10 guests, making the home ideal for entertaining.

The versatile second bedroom has been intelligently designed to function as a spacious home office, complete with a custom built-in desk for two, a matching credenza, and integrated bookshelves. Western exposure provides abundant light and open skyline views. A generous walk-in closet offers excellent storage, and the windowed marble ensuite bathroom-featuring a modern shower stall and sleek hardware-allows for easy conversion to a full-time bedroom suite.

The primary bedroom is a serene retreat, boasting exceptional wardrobe storage with two full walls of architect-designed custom closets. Western exposure floods the room with sunlight, while the luxury primary bath impresses with a large shower stall, floating vanity, marble shelving, and custom cabinetry offering ample storage.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
