Property Description for 140 West 22nd Street, 7-B

Oversized, loft-like 2-bed, 2-bath with a separate home office/den in one of Chelsea's most discreet full-service buildings.

Please note that the apartment is currently being painted white. Additionally, pets are not allowed per the building.

Residence 7B combines volume, refinement, and functionality in a way rarely found in a rental. The expansive great room anchors the home, offering an ideal layout for both entertaining and everyday living. With 11-foot ceilings, wide-plank walnut floors, and 8-foot solid-core doors, the space feels airy yet grounded, modern yet warm. The adjacent dining area easily accommodates a full-size table, or creates a perfect work-from-home setup without sacrificing living space.

The open chef's kitchen is as striking as it is functional, featuring Alta Cucina custom cabinetry, white cast-glass countertops and backsplash, and under-cabinet lighting. High-end appliances include a Sub-Zero refrigerator with dual freezer drawers and a full suite of Miele cooking and cleaning appliances.

Both bedrooms are generously sized and have excellent storage. The primary suite is a true retreat, highlighted by your very own walk-in-closet, a spa-quality bathroom with double sinks, and a glass-enclosed double shower. The second bathroom offers a deep soaking tub with shower. Both bathrooms are finished in imported limestone, with custom stone sinks.

Additional features include central air with individual room controls, Bosch in-unit washer/dryer, and abundant closet space throughout.

The Clement Clarke Condominium is a boutique, full-service doorman building with a roof deck, converted by award-winning architect Stephen Alton. Located on a quiet, tree-lined Chelsea block, the building sits moments from major transportation, acclaimed dining, and daily conveniences including Trader Joe's, Fairway, Whole Foods, and more. Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
