Property Description for 424 East 52nd Street, 5-A

Rarely Available. Quietly Exceptional.

An excellent-condition prewar two-bedroom, two-bath home on a quiet Beekman Place cul-de-sac, offering tree-lined views of East 52nd Street and classic architectural outlooks — plus the rare benefit of maintenance that includes electricity and two private storage units transferring with the apartment.

A gracious foyer opens into a spacious living room featuring a wood-burning fireplace, custom built-ins, and abundant natural light.

The windowed chef’s kitchen is outfitted with white cabinetry, granite countertops, and Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Bosch appliances, plus a dedicated dining area that comfortably seats six.

The bedrooms are well separated for privacy. The primary suite offers a large custom walk-in closet and a windowed en-suite bath, while the second bedroom features its own windowed bathroom and garden-facing southern exposure.

Authentic prewar details include beamed ceilings, crown molding, graceful archways, hardwood floors, and generous storage throughout.

The building is a full-service, pet-friendly prewar cooperative with a 24-hour doorman, landscaped garden, resident manager, bike storage, and laundry.

Maintenance includes electricity, and two private storage units transfer with the apartment.

80% financing, pied-à-terres, and guarantors permitted. Washer/dryer permitted with board approval.

A timeless New York home offering comfort, character, and enduring appeal.

Classic New York, exactly as it should be.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
