Property Description for 265 State Street, 1508

Entirely unique to The Boreum, Apartment 1508 is a gloriously proportioned split two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home where the foyer doesn’t just shove you straight into the living room. Here you can ceremoniously kick off your shoes, stow your coat in a custom closet, surrender your keys on a beautiful console…and pause to admire Katie Bell’s captivating installation…before washing up and sneaking that first peek at your lofty Downtown Brooklyn panorama. With nearly ten-foot ceilings overhead, you drift into the living area and head straight for the kitchen to pour yourself something chilled (Pro tip: pair cocktails with the gleaming Silestone counters, lacquered cabinets, Liebherr fridge and Smeg 5-burner range). Adjacent, your built-out home office flaunts shelves on three sides, ideal for proudly displaying that burgeoning book and chotchke collection, while your impeccably curated living room whispers “you’ve arrived” while hosting movie nights with friends or enjoying quiet evenings alone. On the west wing, guests (or pint-sized VIPs) claim a generous bedroom, perfect closet, a fully vented LG washer-dryer and a bathroom the size usually reserved for the primary suite. Speaking of which, your primary retreat soars above eleven feet, granting you a truly regal turn-in experience. A cavernous walk-in closet readies you for tomorrow’s style exploits, while the marble-and-porcelain primary bath pampers with heated Calacatta floors for those chilly winter mornings, double Kohler sinks and Waterworks fixtures. Oh, and should you wish to park your chariot onsite, a dedicated spot is available for an extra $100,000 making this one of Brooklyn’s smartest condominium deals. You’re home. The Boerum crowns your lifestyle with 128 meticulously managed residences, where your dedicated live-in super and attentive concierge anticipate your every whim. Retreat to the sophisticated tenant's lounge, lose yourself in the curated library, or unleash the little ones in the imaginative kids' playspace, all while the state-of-the-art fitness sanctuary and panoramic roof deck beckon…literally RIGHT next to your brand new #1508. Beyond your private sanctuary, Brooklyn's finest awaits: eight subway lines ( A, C, F, G, 4, 5, 2, 3) stand ready to whisk you anywhere, while Brooklyn Fare and Trader Joe's ensure your pantry remains impeccably stocked. Indulge in the neighborhood's culinary treasures…perhaps French Louie's sublime offerings, Grand Army's artisanal cocktails, or Bar Tabac's Parisian charm. For visiting dignitaries (read: your mother-in-law), the adjoining Hilton presents sumptuous accommodations from a mere $200 nightly, accessible via the discreet Schermerhorn Street entrance…no pullout sofa required.

Boerum Hill | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Boerum Hill is a tiny, quiet, primarily residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. There are broad tree-lined streets that are filled with elegant three and four-story brownstones and townhouses, mostly built between 1840 and 1870. There is a definite family vibe to the neighborhood, but young professionals are moving in, and with them are coming trendy bars to cater to their desire for some measure of nightlife, without having to linger in Manhattan. These new bars and restaurants are being sandwiched in amongst existing shops on both Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street, which are the main commercial areas in Boerum Hill.

Boerum Hill offers a convenient location that is still able to maintain its small-neighborhood feel. Shopkeepers value their customers and remember their regulars. It continues to do what it was designed to do, namely provide small-town living in the very shadow of the big city. Boerum Hill is an easy commute to other parts of the city, making it easy to come home every day to the peace and tranquility of Boerum Hill while commuting to a job anywhere in the city.

The neighborhood is quite walkable and you can take the time to catch up with your neighbors while visiting on their stoops. Shopping on Atlantic Avenue is stress-free with no high pressure. You can meet with friends at any of the many coffee shops and while away pleasant hours in conversation. The dining scene on Smith Street is similarly laid-back. Don’t expect that there will be quite as much to see or do as there is in Manhattan, but there are a decent number of interesting bars and restaurants providing a measure of nightlife. The trade-off is worth it, as Boerum Hill provides a quiet, peaceful place to live and raise a family.
