Property Description for 160 West 12th Street, 66

Empire State View 2-Bedroom at The Greenwich Lane - Just Under 1,600 SqFt

If you care about quiet scale, natural light and real conveniences, Residence 66 at 160 West 12th Street is worth a look. As part of the Rudin's residential masterpiece, The Greenwich Lane is the most prestigious and best built address(es) below 57th Street. The quality of the architecture and finishes are unmatched downtown. For primary living, pied-à-terre needs or as an investment, TGL has easily outperformed the larger market with significant gains over this past, LOST, decade of value stagnation.

This split two-bedroom, two-bath home - approximately 1,583 square feet - sits on an easily accessed bucolic block in the heart of the West Village. Oversized windows facing north bring in even light throughout the day. The apartment reads calm, curated and comfortably livable.

The proportions and layout of unit 66's floor plan offer maximum utility. Unlike most new developments over the last 30 years, TGL eschewed the accountants' insistence on "shrinkflation" and delivered the apartment's communal spaces with ample room for both intimate living and/or grand entertaining .

Thomas O'Brien delivered timeless elegance and because this property is in mint condition all that is needed is your personal decorative touches. The kitchen and baths set the standard for super prime downtown living, it's obvious from the photos and in person, and were all completed with the highest end fixtures, appliances and materials (stones & millwork).

Part of Greenwich Lane's full-service offering, this residence comes with serious building perks: a three-lane 25-meter lap pool and hot tub, a comprehensive fitness center with steam and locker rooms plus yoga and treatment rooms, landscaped central gardens with a reflecting pool, residents' lounge and dining room with a catering kitchen, a 21-seat screening room, children's playroom, golf simulator, bike room and private storage. Round-the-clock concierge, doorman and resident manager services deliver white-glove living downtown.

TGL is where provenance, quiet elegance and modern practical convenience converge delivering undeniable prestige.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
