Property Description for 185 Prospect Park Southwest, 203

Bathed in southern light and overlooking Prospect Park, this generously proportioned two-bedroom, two-bath residence offers an exceptional combination of space, light, and views. With direct park vistas from both the living room and private terrace, the home provides a front-row seat to the changing seasons. Spanning approximately 1,300 square feet, the thoughtfully planned layout feels expansive and comfortable, comparable in scale to many three-bedroom homes. The open living and dining area easily accommodates entertaining and everyday living, while six well-placed closets—including a large walk-in near the entrance—deliver impressive storage throughout. The primary suite is spacious and serene, featuring a renovated en-suite bath and an oversized walk-in closet. A second queen-sized bedroom offers flexibility for guests, home office use, or multiple sleeping arrangements. The windowed eat-in kitchen is generously sized, with abundant cabinetry and counter space, and the opportunity to personalize to your taste. Located in the heart of Windsor Terrace, the building is surrounded by beloved neighborhood destinations such as The Elk, Le Paddock, Poetica, Krupa Grocery, Ladybird Bakery, Hilltop Tavern, and Nitehawk Cinema. Prospect Park’s lake, playgrounds, tennis courts, and dog run are directly across the street, and the F and G subway lines are conveniently nearby. The home is part of a well-kept post-war elevator building with a live-in superintendent and full-time porter. Residents enjoy access to a shared garden with a grill, laundry facilities, bike storage, private storage, and on-site parking (waitlist and additional fee apply). Pets are welcome.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
