Property Description for 201 East 28th Street, 14-M

With a style that is synonymous with downtown chic, and a large space that contemporary home buyers have on their checklist, complete with a home-office courtesy of California Closets, welcome to 14M at The Chesapeake House, a full service building undergoing hallway renovation, a roof deck and a lot to love. 14M is bright and on a high floor in excellent condition, with updated floors, closets, kitchen and more.

Pack your bags and move right in. Your new kitchen has a Bosch dishwasher, Verona gas range, white shaker cabinets with brushed nickel hardware and matching GE custom double bottom drawer refrigerator all stainless, with a white bullnose farmer's sink on top of charcoal bullnose granite with subway tile backsplash.

Ample room for hosting dinner parties and entertaining in your considerable Living and Dining Rooms. The post-war proportions are generous enough for the largest furniture, and have been designed to create even more closet space in your walk in closet "Manhattan garage" that doubles as a home office with custom finishes.

The bedroom is equally spacious and the bathroom is well kept.

The Chesapeake House is a very well run cooperative, with excellent financials and a parking garage. Hallway renovation is underway, and if you don't feel you can see enough of the Empire State Building from the Living Room, you can take it in even more with the panoramic views on the roof deck.

Kips Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

If you take a walk through Kips Bay, which is loosely defined as the area between 23rd street and 34th street and the East River to almost Lexington, you’ll quickly learn it's a hodgepodge of sorts and not as well defined as other neighborhoods in New York City. Some New Yorkers say Kips Bay has an identity crisis because 1st, 2nd, and 3rd avenues are distinctly different from one another as you traverse them. Despite the perceived lack of neighborhood vibe there are others that appreciate its affordability and convenience.

First Avenue is dominated by hospitals and hospital buildings such as NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital to name a few. Second Avenue is a mosaic of convenience stores, fast food joints and nondescript brick buildings. Third Avenue is saturated with small bars and gastropubs and the twenty somethings that patronize them.

No judgement against Kips Bay here. It’s a great neighborhood that is just as much a part of New York City as any other neighborhood. Kips Bay It’s bordered by Murray Hill to the North, Stuyvesant Town and Gramercy Park to the South, and Rose Hill to the West. The neighborhood is partly defined by newer high-rise apartments, brick rowhouses, and former tenement buildings.
