Property Description for 1 Bond Street, 2-D

Furnished Historic Loft in the Heart of NoHo

Available furnished, this recently refinished loft at 1 Bond offers a rare opportunity to live in one of downtown Manhattan's most iconic prewar buildings, the landmarked Robbins & Appleton Building (circa 1880). Set on charming Bond Street, this residence seamlessly blends historic architecture with modern luxury and everyday functionality.

Upon entry, you're welcomed into a dramatic open living space defined by soaring 13-foot beamed ceilings, exposed brick, original cast-iron columns, and four oversized south-facing windows that flood the home with natural light. Brand-new hardwood oak flooring runs throughout, enhancing the warmth and scale of the loft.

The expansive layout is thoughtfully designed for both entertaining and comfortable daily living. A generous dining area flows into a spacious living room and a beautifully appointed open chef's kitchen. Outfitted with walnut and stainless-steel cabinetry, premium appliances including a Fisher & Paykel 5-burner range, Dacor ovens, Miele dishwasher, garbage disposal, and abundant storage, the kitchen is anchored by a newly constructed island complete with a wine cooler and rack-perfect for hosting.

The primary suite offers ample closet space and a spa-like en-suite bath featuring an oversized Jacuzzi soaking tub and a separate rain shower. A versatile bonus room provides flexibility as a second bedroom, nursery, guest room, or dedicated home office. Two full bathrooms ensure comfort and convenience, while a separate utility/laundry room includes a high-performance washer/dryer and additional storage.

Modern enhancements-including smart home features and elevator access-complement the building's historic white cast-iron facade, creating a living experience that honors the past while embracing contemporary design.

Ideally positioned in NoHo and surrounded by Greenwich Village, East Village, NoLIta, and SoHo, residents enjoy unparalleled access to culture, dining, and convenience. The Equinox gym sits directly across the street, while neighborhood staples like The Public Theater and Washington Square Park are moments away. Grocery options including Whole Foods Market and Wegmans at Astor Place are nearby, along with multiple subway lines (6/B/D/F/M and N/R/W) and Citi Bike stations for effortless transportation.

Noho | Manhattan

Quick Profile

NoHo, an acronym for North of Houston, is a trendy neighborhood with expansive lofts, chic shops, and hip eateries. It was once part of Greenwich Village, but as New York City changes and coolness always redefines itself, the neighborhood, which is more like a small nook, has morphed into a happening secession of its own.

Like many New York City neighborhoods, the boundaries are subjective and the exact location always depends on who you ask. Generally, NoHo is understood to be bounded by East Eighth Street to the north, East Houston Street to the south, Bowery Street to the east (which becomes Cooper Square north of East Fourth Street), and Broadway to the west.

It’s hard to believe that NoHo was once a sketchy no-man’s land with more than its share of dilapidated structures. These gentrified days, it’s a healthy mix of older buildings, renovated warehouses and newer construction by iconic architects. For such a small area, NoHo has three historic districts that cover much of the neighborhood.

Broadway, Bowery, and Lafayette is the business district of the neighborhood. You’ll find it all in this neck of the woods. From trendy one of a kind retailers to popular brand stores. It rivals its SoHo neighbor in places to shop.

Architecture buffs get your walking shoes on. There are many historical and modern buildings throughout the neighborhood. Colonnade Row, the Cable Building, and the Schermerhorn Building are just a few of the many notable buildings you’ll find.
