Property Description for 259 Halsey Street, 1-R

Directly across from Corto Café, this newly built eight-unit condominium introduces contemporary architecture and airy, loft-inspired living.

SPONSOR WILL PAY YOUR FIRST TWO YEARS OF REAL ESTATE TAXES!

Residence 1R spans 1,681 square feet across two levels and includes two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and the uncommon convenience of two washer/dryers. Soaring ceilings clocking in at 11'7". A private backyard, scaled for both quiet evenings and large gatherings, anchors the home. The interiors combine the drama of walls of glass and open volumes with a thoughtful layout that emphasizes both indoors and outdoors. Central heat and air (of course) and gas cooking (whaaaaat!) are just two of the many comforts this home offers.

A gracious foyer with interior mailboxes sets a welcoming tone for the building. The residence opens through a solid core wood door with keypad entry, while a mounted iPad manages the video intercom system as well as the pre-wired speakers.

The winged two-bedroom layout includes a primary suite with a walk-through dressing room and en-suite bath, and a secondary bedroom with a walk-in closet. A full bathroom and washer/dryer complete this level. The living room is oriented for intuitive furniture placement and anchored by a dramatic wall of glass doors that open directly to the backyard.
Outside, a fully hardscaped oasis with an outdoor kitchen-including a pizza oven and grill-a hot tub, and two distinct levels for dining and entertaining.
Descend downstairs to an expansive recreation room with half bath, a second washer/dryer, and a private light well that functions as an additional outdoor space with direct access to the upper deck.

Nestled on a lovely Sycamore-lined block, 259 Halsey places you moments from neighborhood destinations such as Ler Lers, Dolores, Chicky's General Store, Dear Friend Books, and Bar Camillo. A few blocks to the C train, multiple Citibike stations, and easy street parking, right off of Tompkins Ave.

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
