Property Description for 44 Laight Street, 2-A

SHORT TERM RENTAL AVAILABLE UNTIL JULY 1ST 2026. Minimum stay 30 days.

Residence 2A at the Grabler Building offers over 4,000 SF+/- of living space in a boutique, 18-unit Tribeca condominium. Once a pipe fitting factory, this 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom loft retains its industrial character while incorporating modern upgrades. With key-locked elevator access and a focus on space and proportion, it’s a refined downtown residence.
Located on a quiet cobblestone block of Laight Street, the pet-friendly building includes 24-hour lobby attendance and a discreet entrance. It's close to dining, shopping, Hudson River Park, and major subway lines and Citi Bike stations.
Residence 2A blends original details—exposed brick, cast iron columns, wood beams, copper piping—with modern features like multi-zone HVAC, Lutron lighting, and custom millwork. It’s designed for practical, contemporary living.
A key-locked elevator opens into a paneled foyer and a 56’ great room with arched 8’ windows offering southern views, including the World Trade Center. The kitchen includes a vented 6-burner Viking range, convection oven, Sub-Zero refrigerator, Miele dishwasher, microwave, wine cooler, two sinks, and a pot filler. Slab marble counters and a large island complete the space.
Off the main area, frosted retractable doors reveal a custom den suitable as a guest room or office. A full bath is nearby. Rich wood floors run throughout, with LED insets lining the hallway—ideal for displaying art.
The primary suite features space for a king bed, a sitting area, and a large walk-in closet. The en-suite bath includes marble finishes, a soaking tub, oversized shower, dual sinks, and radiant floors.
The third bedroom has a reading nook, built-in desk, and custom closet. It shares a radiant-heated bath with a flexible interior room, currently used as a guest room and workspace, naturally lit by an eyebrow window.
A large laundry room offers a vented LG washer/dryer, utility sink, and cabinetry. A walk-in pantry and mudroom provide additional storage and functionality. Throughout, the home features integrated storage, high-end systems, and custom finishes.
A unique opportunity to rent an authentic piece of New York’s industrial past, reimagined for modern living.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
