Property Description for 182 Mulberry Street, 4

Gut renovated floor-through two-bedroom condo. Located in the heart of Nolita, Residence 4 at 182 Mulberry Street is a full-floor loft-style home in a boutique elevator condominium. Spanning over 1,500 square feet, Residence 4 was gut renovated in 2022 and includes two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, east and west exposures, and a direct elevator entrance into the unit. The open living and dining room faces west with 25 feet of window frontage looking over Mulberry Street. This width allows for separate areas for formal dining, lounging, and the eat-in kitchen without disrupting the flow among them. Enjoy afternoon sunsets on the balcony, the first of two outdoor spaces in the unit. The windowed kitchen offers new appliances, a combination of cabinets and open shelving, and an extra-wide marble peninsula -- perfect for those who require extra counter space. Adjacent, a built-out pantry offers ample storage. Pass through a gallery to the bedroom wing on the east side of the apartment. Both bedrooms are tucked away for privacy and quiet. The primary bedroom has three built-out closets, an en-suite windowed bathroom, and sliding glass door leading to a rear balcony. Electric shades operate via remote for ease and privacy. The second bedroom also faces east and includes three additional built-out closets. The second full bathroom is just across the hall, convenient both for the second bedroom and for guests. Additional features of the apartment include an in-unit washer and dryer; split AC systems in each room; and additional closet space throughout. 182 Mulberry Street is a well-run, boutique condominium building of only 6 residential units. There is a virtual doorman system for convenience and safety. Pets are case-by-case.

Little Italy | Manhattan

Quick Profile

It’s fitting that the neighborhood’s name is Little Italy because It’s been getting smaller for decades. The Italian immigrants that flooded New York City and built the vibrant ethnic enclave in the 1860s and 1880s eventually left for greener pastures, assimilating into other parts of the city or suburbs. The disappearance of Little Italy is a sad story as far as neighborhoods go, but it’s one that should be told.

Little Italy once spanned 50 square blocks and represented the biggest population of Italian immigrants in America. But in recent years, it’s been squeezed by the growth of Chinatown and SoHo and muscled from the rebranding of other neighborhoods like NoHo and NoLIta. In fact, NoLita was the culprit that cut the neighborhood in two. Little Italy’s boundaries may vary depending upon who you ask. Today it’s down to just a few blocks along Mulberry Street.

One of the best ways to experience Little Italy is through its food. Take your pick from mom-and-pop markets, meat and cheese shops, or authentic sit-down restaurants that offer the very best in Italian cuisine.

Every September (since 1926), the neighborhood hosts the Feast of San Gennaro, which celebrates the patron Saint of Naples Italy. 11 days of food, colorful parades, music performances, and more food. The aroma of zeppole and grilled sausage can be smelt for blocks. Try planning your visit around this festive time. It’s well worth it.
