Property Description for 55 White Street, 1-C

Nestled in the heart of Tribeca, this exceptional triplex loft seamlessly combines historic architectural charm with a sophisticated modern design. Available fully furnished.

Meticulously reimagined from top to bottom, the residence retains its industrial heritage with Corinthian cast-iron columns, soaring double-height ceilings, and oversized sash windows, while introducing cutting-edge comforts such as a fully integrated smart-home system, premium finishes, and state-of-the-art fixtures.

The entry foyer, complete with a half bath at the front, sets the stage for a striking three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom home spanning approximately 3,200 square feet. The main level features a dramatic living room with a wood-burning fireplace, custom built-ins, rich hardwood flooring, and versatile bonus rooms ideal for a home office, media room, or guest suite. Also the front half bath comes equipped with a Toto toilet.

The chef's kitchen showcases a waterfall-edge marble island with seating, refined countertops and backsplash, and top-tier Sub-Zero and Miele appliances. Just beyond lies a serene bedroom with its own private bath.

On the mezzanine level, a designated office space overlooks the living / dining room and leads across a bridge to the private primary suite. The suite offers a generous walk-in closet with custom millwork and a spa-like bathroom equipped with a Toto toilet, dual vanities, and a glass-enclosed shower.

The lower level offers additional living and recreational space, including a third bedroom with en-suite bath, abundant storage, and flexible areas for work, play, or entertaining.
Modern conveniences include automated shades, built-in surround-sound with a six-zone Sonos system, in-unit Miele washer/dryer, alarm system, and new HVAC and boiler.

Once a 19th-century saddlery shop and warehouse, 55 White Street is an 1861 cast-iron landmark designed by renowned architect John Kellum. Now a boutique condominium of only sixteen residences across seven stories, the building provides a landscaped roof deck with BBQ and lounge areas, a virtual doorman system, and full-time superintendent. Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
