Property Description for 970 Kent Ave, 109

Welcome to The Kent—a beautifully renovated loft-style 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom home spanning over 1,000 square feet, featuring soaring 13-foot ceilings and in-unit washer and dryer. A covered parking space is available for rent in the garage next door for $300/month. As you enter, a welcoming foyer with a built-out coat closet offers a practical landing space before opening into the expansive living and dining area. Framed by oversized windows overlooking the building’s peaceful courtyard, the room feels bright and airy while still private. With its dramatic ceiling height and generous proportions, the space easily accommodates a comfortable living area, dining table, and even a dedicated work-from-home corner. With its south-west exposure, the apartment is bathed in natural light throughout the day and into the evening—an inviting setting for relaxed dinners or gathering with friends. The renovated kitchen blends seamlessly into the living space and offers abundant cabinetry and excellent storage, making it both functional for everyday cooking and ideal for entertaining. Set apart from the living spaces, the generously proportioned primary bedroom offers a serene, private retreat, effortlessly accommodating a California king bed while still allowing room for a sitting area or additional pieces. A spacious walk-in closet completes the space, providing exceptional storage. The renovated en-suite bathroom adds an extra layer of comfort and privacy. The second bedroom is generously sized and versatile—large enough for a queen-size bed, guest room, or nursery—and includes a well-designed closet. Just across the hall sits an updated full bathroom, conveniently positioned for guests and the second bedroom. Down the hallway, a dedicated laundry closet with a washer and dryer keeps daily essentials tucked away. The Kent Condominium is a converted industrial loft building that blends classic character with modern amenities, including a 24-hour doorman, live-in superintendent, fitness center, bike storage, children’s playroom and a beautifully landscaped courtyard that feels like a private park. Ideally positioned on the border of Bedford-Stuyvesant and Clinton Hill, you are close to neighborhood favorites such as Speedy Romeo, Clementine Bakery, Mekelburg's, and Brooklyn Kolache, with the peaceful grounds of Pratt Institute Sculpture Park just a short distance away. Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
