Property Description for 5 Tudor City Place, 811

Apartment 811 is a fully redesigned 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom residence by Atelier+Concept — a modern British-inspired interior with a deliberate nod to Tudor City's classic heritage, executed with genuine care and quality finishes throughout. Western light floods the home all day, while oak flooring and Farrow & Ball paint across every room give the home a considered, cohesive feel. The gallery foyer, lined with deep coat closets, sets the tone before opening to an expansive open-plan living and dining area. The custom kitchen is built for serious cooking: black granite countertops, an eat-in chef's island, stainless steel appliances, and generous pantry storage that rarely accompanies a kitchen of this style. The second bedroom is oversized — currently configured as a study but easily accommodating a king bed with room to spare. A walk-in closet and its own ensuite windowed bathroom, thoughtfully upgraded, make it a fully functional guest suite. Blackout treatments throughout. The primary suite is the quiet anchor of the home — a northern exposure, custom cherrywood wardrobes, blackout window treatments, and a grand ensuite bathroom finished in marble with a large soaking tub and shower. Fantastic city views, abundant storage, and an interior that punches well above its price point. Apartment 811 is a rare and refined offering in one of Tudor City's most storied addresses. The low monthly maintenance of $2,186 includes all utilities. 5 Tudor City Place is a full-service cooperative with a 24-hour doorman, resident manager, central laundry, resident storage rooms, bike storage, game room, and a fitness center in the building. Located on a quiet, tree-lined cul-de-sac, the Landmarked Tudor City district offers two beautifully manicured parks, playgrounds and quaint neighborhood shops all within close proximity to Grand Central, the United Nations, fine dining, and shopping. The building permits Pied-a-terres, gifting, co-purchasing, and up to 75% financing.

Tudor City | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Compared to other New York City neighborhoods Tudor City is a bit different. For starters, it's not very big. And technically it's not a neighborhood, it's more along the lines of a residential enclave of Tudor style buildings and parks. Even with the large neon sign boldly exclaiming the enclave's name, Tudor CIty is still a little tricky to find.

Located on the southern edge of Turtle Bay, Tudor City borders Murray Hill and lies on a low cliff which is just east of Second Avenue between 40th and 43rd Street. It overlooks the grounds of the United Nations along First Avenue and the East River beyond.

Tudor City is considered one of the world’s first skyscraper apartment complexes. This was considered a remarkable feat in 1929. Early marketing material, aimed at the middle class, described the development as well-planned, well-built, and well-priced housing. Developer Fred F. Finch designed Tudor City to keep middle class residents in Manhattan as many were fleeing the city for the suburbs.
