Property Description for 30 Front Street, 19-A

Framed by sweeping views of both the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge, this exceptional three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath residence offers 2,207 square feet of beautifully appointed interiors, complemented by a 136-square-foot river-facing terrace designed for seamless indoor-outdoor living. A gracious foyer and gallery open into an expansive, light-filled great room, where floor-to-ceiling windows draw in natural light and showcase striking bridge and river views. The open living and dining spaces are anchored by a thoughtfully designed kitchen by Workstead, where refined craftsmanship meets substantial materials. A sculptural island clad in Fior di Bosco stone with chamfered edges serves as the focal point, complemented by raked maple cabinetry, satin nickel hardware, and fully integrated Gaggenau appliances. Just beyond, a custom wet bar with matching maple millwork, Fior di Bosco stone backsplash, integrated sink, and wine storage enhances the home’s effortless entertaining appeal. Privately situated within the bedroom wing, the primary suite is both serene and generously scaled, featuring two closets, including a spacious walk-in dressing area. The en-suite bath is richly finished in honed Aglo Ceppo stone across the walls, floors, and countertops, and includes a freestanding soaking tub, brushed nickel fittings, and a custom slatted white maple double vanity. Each of the secondary bedrooms is well-proportioned, finished with mosaic flooring, custom maple vanities, and polished nickel fixtures. Additional features include a discreetly concealed washer and dryer, along with a sophisticated powder room finished in honed African St. Laurent stone and white maple paneling. Set within Olympia DUMBO, one of DUMBO’s most distinguished waterfront addresses, the residence pairs striking architecture with a highly curated lifestyle offering. Designed by Hill West Architects with interiors by Workstead, Olympia rises prominently above the historic waterfront and offers over 38,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities across three levels, all inspired by the neighborhood’s maritime and industrial character. Parking spot available to purchase separately, inquire for more information.

Dumbo | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

DUMBO, which is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, used to be a lively industrial and manufacturing zone, full of large factories and warehouses. These buildings have now been converted into expansive lofts, theaters, galleries, and office spaces for start-up companies. These larger residential spaces are attractive to families and creative artists and writers who need space to dream and create.

DUMBO was named in 1978 as a sort of reverse marketing ploy to try to keep people from swarming into the area, attracted by the quaint tree-lined streets, elegant historic brownstones, large lofts, and views of Lower Manhattan. It was felt that this influx of people would change the nature of the neighborhood. It was hoped that by giving the area a ridiculous name, nobody would want to live there.

Many of the neighborhood’s bars, hotels, and restaurants capitalize on the stunning waterfront views and the Manhattan skyline in the background. Interesting and fun cultural events are held under and around the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges that connect DUMBO to Manhattan. One of these is the annual Oktoberfest.

With beautiful vignettes of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges being framed around every corner, DUMBO provides residents and tourists with charming, and often surprising, views. Because the neighborhood is eminently walkable and filled with unique shops, it feels like a small town on the edge of a major urban waterfront. Once people move to DUMBO, they tend to stay and become involved in the community.
