Property Description for 438 East 12th Street, 6-C

Exquisitely customized high-floor split two (2) bedroom, two & a half (2.5) bathroom apartment, currently configured as an extra-large one (1) bedroom, in the East Village's premier luxury condominium.

Defined by oversized casement windows of statuary bronze framing the home's wide-plank white oak floors up to the over 10-foot ceilings, this gorgeous residence benefits from excellent light and city skyline views.

Designed by the talented Paris Forino and offering 1,200+ square feet of space, this quality home opens directly into a very spacious living and dining room, accentuated in grandeur by the removal of an easily replaceable bedroom wall. The open kitchen, quintessential to any downtown New York home, is replete with satin lacquer custom Italian cabinetry, limestone and Calacatta marble countertops, and blackened metal hardware; all composed expertly with appliances by Wolf, Bosch and Sub-Zero.

The quiet primary suite offers sizeable sanctuary that shares similar exposure to the picturesque living room, but with an even better vantage of the Empire State Building. A customized primary bathroom tastefully integrates attractive rectangular tiling which matches the ombre wallpaper, all while offering the practicality of a double vanity, radiant heat floors, a large shower as well as a separate soaking tub. Complete with ample walk-in-closet space, this bedroom could not be better.

The Bianco Dolomiti clad secondary bathroom remains entirely intact, offering the opportunity to integrate it back into the second bedroom en-suite it originally was, or keep it as is. An additional powder room is conveniently located aside the entry vestibule and coat closet, with additional noteworthy features of the home including; central HVAC, uniformly tall 8-foot doors featuring burnished brass hardware, a Bosch washer and dryer laundry closet as well as bespoke millwork throughout.

The Steiner East Village represents unparalleled luxury in the neighborhood and one of Downtown's finest buildings. This full-service condominium offers a 24-hour concierge and a live-in resident manager, ensuring unmatched convenience and service. 16,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities include a teak-ribbed 50-foot indoor pool with views of a private garden, a spa with sauna and steam room, cutting-edge fitness center, resident's library with fireplace, and a children's playroom. Additionally, the rooftop sky-park has multiple seating areas and grills to maximize the good weather.

Located in one of Manhattan's most eclectic and authentic neighborhoods, Steiner East Village is urban luxury at its finest. Just one block from Tompkins Square Park, and close to exceptional restaurants like Tsukimi or Veselka, the convenience of Apollo Bagels, Trader Joe's & Target you will not want to leave the vicinity. Proximity to the 4, 5, 6, and L train lines as well as multiple bus lines puts the City at your fingertips.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
