Incredible $1,755,000 price adjustment! Set in one of NYC’s most sought after neighborhoods, this stunning home spans over 4000 square feet of luxurious living, wonderfully cared for and brought to life with exceptional modern design and impressive upgrades. Recently reimagined, this 4/5 bedroom, 3.5 bath loft encompasses the entire west side of the 7th floor, and offers a fantastic layout that can easily be reconfigured to your personal preference. With open views to the south, west, and north, this thoughtfully designed home is warm and inviting, with an abundance of natural light and panoramic views of the Freedom Tower, the Empire State Building, Hudson Yards, and beyond. Elegant and vibrant, the home features magnificent 11’ barrel-vaulted ceilings, reclaimed hardwood floors, and a stunning yakisugi wood wall made from charred Japanese cedar. The current owners spared no expense in upgrades, from the custom design, millwork, and kitchen to the new plumbing, exposed ductwork, electrical, and custom windows. The private landing opens to the large foyer and the grand living area to the left, beset with multiple seating areas individually lit for a setting perfect for entertaining and gathering. The dining area is well conceived with custom cabinetry and a hidden fridge along the western wall. At the center of the apartment is the open kitchen, complete with a stunning Lacanache 5-burner, double-oven range, a custom copper sink and countertops, and a refrigerator from Sub-Zero. Behind the kitchen is another well-appointed sitting area, a perfect media room or large quiet area for reading and relaxation. The north side contains four bedrooms, each with generous natural light and views, decorated for maximum comfort. The primary bedroom has a wonderful walk-in closet, a separate seating area, and an ensuite bath complete with heated floors and a steam shower. The fifth and sixth bedrooms at the south end are currently configured as offices, easily converted back to bedrooms. The apartment has generous storage, with a plenty of closets, a pantry, large electrical/storage closet, a full size laundry room, and custom shelving throughout. Additional custom highlights include a wonderful play area above the kitchen, a mini bar, and a mud room off of the main landing. Built in 1908 and converted to condominiums in 1998, the Steiner Building offers a doorman, superintendent, porter, and includes a beautiful rooftop terrace for residents. With only 32 units, this boutique building set in the heart of Chelsea, is very private and sits just steps from the West Village, High Line, and Meatpacking District.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
