Property Description for 459 West 18th Street, 3

Welcome to 459 West 18th Street an architectural gem in the heart of West Chelsea and a true standout in the neighborhood's modern design landscape. Conceived by the award-winning firm Della Valle Bernheimer, this boutique building is a refined expression of contemporary New York living-striking in presence, yet quietly sophisticated within.

This full-floor, 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom residence spans approximately 2,177 square feet, offering a loft-like scale with both northern and southern exposures that invite a natural rhythm of light throughout the day. A key-locked elevator opens directly into a beautifully curated foyer, where a statement wall more art installation than entry sets an immediate tone of intention and design.

The home has been thoughtfully renovated, blending modern upgrades with timeless finishes. Interiors are defined by oak flooring, generous ceiling heights, and expansive picture windows that frame the city as living artwork. The living room is anchored by a custom fireplace, creating a warm, elegant focal point that elevates both everyday living and entertaining.

The open-concept layout flows seamlessly into a custom-designed kitchen, outfitted with Sub-Zero, Miele, and Bosch appliances, sleek cabinetry, and a pantry for additional storage balancing form and function with understated precision.

The primary suite is a true retreat, featuring a custom-designed walk-through closet and a spa-inspired bathroom that evokes a sense of calm and indulgence, complete with elevated finishes and a serene, hotel-like ambiance. Secondary bedrooms are equally well-appointed, each with custom closets and beautifully finished baths.

Designed as a collection of just ten full-floor residences, the building offers a rare sense of privacy and scale, complemented by amenities including a part-time doorman, and bicycle storage.

Positioned moments from the High Line and surrounded by world-renowned galleries, architecture, and dining, 459 West 18th Street sits at the intersection of culture and design an address that feels both deeply connected and distinctly ahead of its time.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
