Property Description for 140 West 22nd Street, PH-C

Welcome to Penthouse C, an expansive and tranquil home at the coveted Clement Clarke Condominium. PHC is a graciously configured 3 bed 3.5 bath loft like home spanning 2,625 interior square feet accompanied by 838 square feet of private outdoor space. Unlike the other penthouses in the building, PHC spans the entire width of the building with brilliant southern, western and eastern light and views. Enter onto an expansive open living space complete with a gas fireplace and Southern and Western exposures. The 11 foot ceilings allow for a lofty and airy feel. Opposite the living space is a chef's kitchen featuring Alta Cucina hand crafted rosewood cabinets and top-of-the-line appliances including a Miele stove top and built-in convection oven, Subzero refrigerator/freezer, and Miele dishwasher. Situated off the living room is a dining alcove. This room can be used in many different ways and the floorplan allows for this room to be closed off for a more private space. Making your way back to the bedroom chambers, the second and third bedroom are complete with en suite baths and beautiful southern exposure. These bedrooms are generously sized allowing for a more formal bedroom or living/media room type layout. The corner primary suite features an oversized walk-in closet and the en suite bathroom has a large soaking tub, double sink vanity, and a separate shower area. This room gets fantastic eastern and southern exposure. PHC comes with a private 838 square foot rooftop which is accessible from within the apartment by a beautiful and architectural staircase. The outdoor space faces the back of the building allowing for a more private and serene city oasis with wonderful iconic Chelsea views. The Clement Clark is a bespoke pre-war condominium with 51 units. The building was beautifully gut renovated in 2008 by award-winning architect Stephen Alton. The building offers a full-time doorman, resident manager, on-site superintendent, bike storage, common laundry room and a common roof deck for all residents. Please note this apartment transfers with two storage cages. There are an additional two storage rooms for purchase. Inquire within for details. There is an assessment of $1,831.25/month which will be spread over a six-month period, effective August 1, 2026. This is to cover local law 11 work.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
