Property Description for 73-12 35th Ave, F-23

This beautifully proportioned two-bedroom home at Washington Plaza offers nearly 1,000 square feet of classic prewar charm paired with thoughtful updates. A gracious entry foyer--with two large closets--sets the tone, opening into an expansive living and dining area with high ceilings, elegant archways, and crown moldings. The layout flows easily for both everyday living and entertaining, while two exposures bring in natural light and enhance the home's airy feel. It has also been freshly painted a crisp white and has been immaculately maintained.

The windowed kitchen is both stylish and functional, featuring Caesarstone countertops, under-cabinet lighting, custom cabinetry with soft-close drawers, and a full suite of stainless-steel appliances, including a dishwasher. The split-bedroom layout enhances privacy, with the king-sized primary offering two large closets, including a walk-in, and ample room for all your bedroom furniture. The second bedroom comfortably accommodates a queen-sized bed and has a generous closet. A windowed bathroom with a deep soaking tub and classic finishes completes the home.

Washington Plaza is a highly-regarded 1940 Art Deco gated coop designed by noted architect Sylvan Bien (The Carlyle Hotel). Set within the Jackson Heights Historic District, the six-building complex is centered around a beautifully landscaped private garden with a pond and fountain. Amenities include a part-time attended gatehouse, live-in superintendent, fitness center, laundry, bike room, and storage (with expansion underway). It is also pet-friendly with flexible ownership options including co-purchasing, guarantors, and subletting with board approval.

Ideally located just two blocks from the 74th Street/Roosevelt Avenue transit hub (E, F, M, R, 7), the building offers easy access to Midtown Manhattan and LaGuardia Airport. Moments away are neighborhood favorites like Paseo Park and Travers Park, the Sunday Greenmarket, and the vibrant 37th Avenue corridor known for its exceptional dining and shopping. Nearby destinations include Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, and Citi Field. Approved capital improvements-including elevator modernization (Q3-Q4 2026), a new basement common space, and expanded storage-add long-term value and appeal.

With abundant storage throughout and a layout that balances openness with separation, F23 delivers comfort and versatility within one of Jackson Heights' most sought-after full-service co-ops.

Jackson Heights | Queens

Quick Profile

Jackson Heights has one of the most diverse populations in the city, and over 100 languages are spoken here. With this cultural diversity comes supporting restaurants, bars, shops and cultural opportunities. It is a mix of commercial and residential properties. There is a wide range of shops and service businesses, so that anything you would need, from a barber, to a pharmacy, to clothing, and food is available right in the neighborhood, no matter which culture or language you might need these services provided in.

Jackson Heights has three nicknames, based on micro-neighborhoods with the neighborhood as a whole. Little India occupies an area on 74th Street, while parts of 73rd Street are known as Little Pakistan. Little Columbia is along 37th Avenue.

A large portion of Jackson Heights has been designated as an historic district, from Roosevelt Avenue to Northern Boulevard, between the east side of 76th Street to the west side of 88th Street.

Jackson Heights was a planned community, where the first “garden apartments” were created in buildings constructed around central gardens and green spaces that gave neighbors a place to meet and socialize with one another, created places for children to play, allowing light to come into the apartments and air to flow freely through them. These gardens are private and only residents have access to them. Passing by the buildings, you might not even guess the gardens were there, as they are not generally visible from the street.

Additionally, there are some mid-rise apartment buildings. Some of these are rentals, some are co-ops, and some are condos. There are a few attached row houses that provide housing for one to three families.

As much as Jackson Heights might be full of noise and mix of cultures, it also has a quieter side, where the various cultures mix and mingle and learn about each other against a backdrop of beautiful architecture and a culinary landscape that brings the world to Queens.
