Property Description for 181 Seventh Ave, 8-B

West-facing from the eighth floor, apartment 8B at 181 7th Avenue catches the afternoon light as it sweeps across the Chelsea rooftops and holds it through sunset. Above the low Chelsea rooftops, with nothing between you and the sky, the evenings here are something else. The living area extends directly onto the terrace through a floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door, keeping the connection between inside and out immediate. Dark-stained hardwood floors run the full length of the apartment, and the open western exposure keeps the space bright and warm through the second half of every day. The semi-open kitchen anchors the apartment, separated from the living area by a clean peninsula that seats two. Gray shaker cabinetry pairs with Calacatta-veined quartz countertops and a full matching quartz backsplash. Appliances include a GE Café gas range with cast-iron grates, a stainless over-the-range microwave, and a built-in dishwasher. The layout is efficient and well-proportioned for a one-bedroom, with an in-unit washer and dryer adding everyday convenience. The bedroom fits a king comfortably, with a full-width wall closet, city views from a black-framed picture window, and the same dark hardwood floors throughout. The bathroom is clean and well-maintained, with white subway tile, a tub and shower combination, chrome fixtures, and a floating white vanity with medicine cabinet storage. The Atrium is a 45-unit boutique condo in the heart of Chelsea, with 24-hour doorman service and bike storage. Intimate in scale and well maintained, the building is a genuine retreat in one of Manhattan's most walkable neighborhoods. Chelsea puts you blocks from the High Line, Chelsea Market, and Madison Square Park, with the Flatiron District and Union Square within easy walking distance. Subway access is immediate at 18th Street and 14th Street-8th Avenue (1/A/C/E). ----- Please be aware that this is a condo building with a board review process that takes 3-4 weeks. This is not the same as a co-op, where you have a risk of being denied. Due to the review process it is crucial that you have flexibility on your move in date as your actual move in date may end up being later than the date on the lease. Renting in a condo brings additional one-time fees paid directly to the condo board / building management at submission of the package. The fees for this building are listed below: - Processing Fee (non-refundable): $500 - Waiver Fee (non-refundable): $100 (per adult occupant) - Move In Fee (non-refundable): $1,000 - Move In Deposit (refundable): $500

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
