Property Description for 21 Douglass Street, 2

With an exceptional Cobble Hill location and a RARE PRIVATE PARKING SPOT, this pristinely maintained floor-through condo offers over 1,500 square feet of thoughtfully renovated living space, along with an oversized private storage room. Just one flight up, the home was originally configured as a 3 BD 2 BA and is currently used as a 2 BD plus a generously sized office / den space. The home's layout is anchored by an expansive open living, dining, and kitchen area that spans the full width of the property – ~29 ft wide. Reimagined as part of a comprehensive renovation, the kitchen features abundant custom cabinetry, extensive counter space, a Viking range, pot filler, and stainless steel appliances. Oversized triple-paned windows throughout provide beautiful natural light from dual Southern and Northern exposures while enhancing quiet and framing leafy treetop views along one of Brownstone Brooklyn's most desirable blocks. The entry foyer offers space for a mudroom and includes a dedicated laundry closet with a full-size LG washer and vented dryer. Privately positioned at the rear of the home are the secondary bedroom, a full bath, and the spacious primary suite. The primary bedroom is extraordinarily spacious and enjoys direct access to a private balcony with open sky views and overlooking neighboring gardens. Both bathrooms are finished in classic marble with Toto fixtures and Grohe fittings. Additional upgrades include split-system air conditioning throughout, new radiators, cedar-lined closets, and updated mechanical systems, including a new hot water heater installed last year, among others. The condo also comes with an oversized private storage room conveniently located just outside the apartment's entry door. Rounding out the offering is a dedicated private parking space located at the rear of the building. Built in 2005, 21 Douglass Street is a thoughtfully maintained, walk-up condominium comprised of just five residences. Pet friendly, too! Residents enjoy easy access to the neighborhood's vibrant restaurants, cafés, and shops along Smith Street, Court Street, and Atlantic Avenue, as well as multiple subway lines, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Cobble Hill Park, Union Market, Trader Joe's, and the Brooklyn waterfront.

Boerum Hill | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Boerum Hill is a tiny, quiet, primarily residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. There are broad tree-lined streets that are filled with elegant three and four-story brownstones and townhouses, mostly built between 1840 and 1870. There is a definite family vibe to the neighborhood, but young professionals are moving in, and with them are coming trendy bars to cater to their desire for some measure of nightlife, without having to linger in Manhattan. These new bars and restaurants are being sandwiched in amongst existing shops on both Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street, which are the main commercial areas in Boerum Hill.

Boerum Hill offers a convenient location that is still able to maintain its small-neighborhood feel. Shopkeepers value their customers and remember their regulars. It continues to do what it was designed to do, namely provide small-town living in the very shadow of the big city. Boerum Hill is an easy commute to other parts of the city, making it easy to come home every day to the peace and tranquility of Boerum Hill while commuting to a job anywhere in the city.

The neighborhood is quite walkable and you can take the time to catch up with your neighbors while visiting on their stoops. Shopping on Atlantic Avenue is stress-free with no high pressure. You can meet with friends at any of the many coffee shops and while away pleasant hours in conversation. The dining scene on Smith Street is similarly laid-back. Don’t expect that there will be quite as much to see or do as there is in Manhattan, but there are a decent number of interesting bars and restaurants providing a measure of nightlife. The trade-off is worth it, as Boerum Hill provides a quiet, peaceful place to live and raise a family.
