Property Description for 305 West 16th Street, 6-D

Certain homes immediately feel different the moment you enter them. Residence 6D is one of them. Occupying a coveted corner position at 305 West 16th Street, this three-bedroom, three-bathroom residence is complemented by an extraordinary 991-square-foot private corner terrace. Bathed in southeastern light throughout the day, the home offers a remarkable connection to the city beyond, anchored by sweeping views of the Empire State Building from the living room, all three bedrooms, and the terrace itself. The living and dining spaces are open, inviting, and designed for the rhythms of everyday life as much as they are for entertaining. Large windows frame the skyline like artwork, while the changing light throughout the day creates a sense of warmth and movement rarely found in city living. Just beyond, the terrace transforms the experience entirely. Large enough to function as a true outdoor living room, it offers endless possibilities for dining, gardening, entertaining, or simply enjoying a quiet morning coffee with the city unfolding around you. Whether hosting friends on a summer evening or watching the lights of Midtown come alive after sunset, the terrace becomes an extension of the home in every season. Throughout the residence, custom millwork and thoughtfully integrated built-ins add depth, character, and a sense of craftsmanship that elevates every room. The kitchen is both beautiful and practical, featuring Caesarstone countertops, Italian Cerused Wenge cabinetry, and a suite of Bosch and Fisher & Paykel appliances. Open to the surrounding living spaces, it serves as a natural gathering place at the heart of the home. The primary suite provides a peaceful retreat, while two additional bedrooms offer flexibility for guests, family, or work-from-home needs. Three full bathrooms are finished with Italian vanities, Grohe and Toto fixtures, and elegant stone and porcelain surfaces, creating spaces that feel calm, refined, and enduring. Additional features include abundant storage, a Bosch washer and dryer, oversized double-pane windows, and carefully considered upgrades throughout. Residents of 305 West 16th Street enjoy the services of a full-time doorman, a fitness center, and a beautifully landscaped roof deck, all moments from the High Line, Hudson River Park, the West Village, Meatpacking District, and some of downtown Manhattan's finest restaurants, galleries, and boutiques. Residence 6D offers a rare combination of scale, light, outdoor space, and iconic New York views—a home that feels connected to the energy of the city while providing a welcome sense of calm above it all.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
