Property Description for 67 East 11th Street, 216

Beautifully Renovated Greenwich Village Studio in Doorman Building with Roof Deck

Open Houses are By Appointment Only.

Located in the Cast Iron Building, one of the finest examples of cast iron architecture in New York City, this gorgeous south-facing home which overlooks East 11th Street features a dramatic entrance gallery preceding a 22-foot living room which easily accommodates a large living area, dining area, sleeping area as well as a home office. The living room has beautiful, exposed brick and is anchored by two of the building's original fluted cast iron columns.

A beautifully renovated kitchen features white shaker-style cabinetry with great storage, stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, quartz countertops and a quartz backsplash. The kitchen has two access points-one from the entrance gallery and another from the living room so it has a very open feel. The nicely renovated marble bathroom has been appointed with a modern vanity, a tub shower and a recessed medicine cabinet.

Additional features of the home include 17 linear feet of closet, solid oak floors, and for architecture aficionados; the exterior of the windows are framed by elegant cast iron Corinthian capitals which are more than 150 years old.

Filled with long rich, history, The Cast Iron Building opened in 1868 as McCreery's Dry Goods Store and was part of the Ladies Mile Shopping District until 1902. After a period as a ladies' shoes and handbag factory, it became the city's first residential conversion of a loft building in 1972 before becoming a cooperative.

67 East 11th Street, aka The Cast Iron Corp., is now a full-service cooperative with a 24-hour doorman, resident manager, spectacular landscaped roof deck, gym, bike room, and large central laundry room. This pet friendly building allows pieds-a-terre, gifting, co-purchasing on a case-by-case basis. 1.5% flip tax paid by the purchaser. Max financing is 80%.

Residents of 67 East 11th Street enjoy the best Greenwich Village has to offer including incredible dining, amazing shopping (Whole Foods Union Square, Wegman's Astor Place, Westside Market 3rd Ave), the Strand Book Store, Washington Square Park, incomparable public transportation and so much more.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
