Property Description for 49 Chambers Street, 8-E

Welcome to 49 Chambers Street, Residence 8E - an extraordinary corner home offering three spacious bedrooms plus a study, three en-suite baths, and a refined powder room. Spanning nearly 3,000 square feet, this sprawling layout is thoughtfully designed to deliver exceptional scale, privacy, and comfort within a full-service condominium. The stunning condominium showcases interiors conceived by the acclaimed design firm Gabellini Sheppard - a masterclass in proportion, materiality, and craftsmanship. Every detail reflects a commitment to timeless elegance and modern luxury, creating a home that is both grand in scale and intimate in feel.

A grand double-door entry opens to an elegant foyer lined with custom Italian closets, setting the tone for the home's bespoke detailing. Hickory hardwood floors in a custom chevron pattern flow throughout, guiding you into the expansive, perfectly proportioned great room - ideal for sophisticated entertaining and everyday living.

The open chef's kitchen is both sculptural and functional, anchored by a honed San Marino marble waterfall island and fully wrapped marble surfaces. Custom cerused cypress cabinetry by Minimal Cucine integrates seamlessly into the living space. A best-in-class appliance suite includes Sub-Zero refrigeration, a Gaggenau gas cooktop, Wolf dual convection ovens with warming drawer, and a Miele dishwasher and wine refrigerator - delivering uncompromising performance.

Privately situated in its own wing, the corner primary suite is a serene retreat defined by grand scale, double exposures, elevated ceilings, and a dramatic bay window. The custom walk-in closet is fully built out, while the spa bath evokes the romance of Roman baths - carved in honed white marble with radiant heated floors, custom Apaiser stone double vanities, a freestanding sculptural soaking tub, luminous cove lighting, and brushed nickel Waterworks fixtures. It is among the most substantial and beautifully appointed primary baths in Manhattan.

The secondary bedroom suites are equally refined, each with en-suite baths clad in honed Casona Pietra Forte Fiorentina sandstone, custom vanities, oversized floating backlit mirrors, and radiant heated floors. A discreet laundry room with full-size washer and dryer, along with a separate den ideal for a study, media room, or fourth sleeping area, completes the thoughtful layout.

49 Chambers offers one of downtown's most comprehensive amenity collections: a landscaped rooftop terrace, indoor swimming pool, hammam and spa, sauna and steam rooms, state-of-the-art fitness center, residents' lounge, screening room, children's playroom, tween lounge, golf/sports simulator room and private storage - all within a landmarked Beaux-Arts masterpiece in the heart of Tribeca.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
