Property Description for 225 East 57th Street, 5-G

Love is in the Air!

Within these walls of 5G, mornings were shared, dreams were nurtured, and life unfolded with intention and care.

Now, that chapter gently closes-not as an ending, but as an invitation. The owners feel grateful and blessed to have called this generous and beautiful home their own, and they are ready to move on. This apartment is prepared to welcome a new love story, written by new owners who will fill it with their own rituals, laughter, and quiet moments of joy.

The residence offers two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a dedicated office with a closet, it could also be a bonus room. This creates a layout that is both graceful and highly functional. A state-of-the-art kitchen anchors the home, designed for everyday living as well as inspired gatherings. The two full bathrooms are beautifully appointed, and the primary bedroom is a true sanctuary, featuring a generous walk-in closet and motorized shades, a thoughtful luxury that extends throughout the apartment.

Presented in triple-mint condition, the home is truly move-in ready, with every detail carefully curated so the next owners can simply arrive and begin living.

Welcome to Harridge House, a world-class cooperative in one of the very best locations in the city. Built in 1963 and converted to a cooperative in 1984, Harridge House is a thoughtfully designed residential enclave of 260 apartments, offering something for everyone. Divided into two distinct sections, the 57th Street building (124 residences) and the 58th Street building (136 residences) are connected by gorgeous private gardens, creating a rare sense of calm and community in the heart of the city.

The 57th Street side is known for its expansive two-bedroom and convertible three-bedroom homes, along with generously proportioned Junior 4s and large one-bedroom residences. The 58th Street section offers alcove studios and a variety of one-bedroom layouts. Over time, many residences have been combined to create duplexes and side-by-side, lavish floorplans, reflecting the building's flexibility and timeless appeal.

Life at Harridge House is enriched by its diverse and sophisticated community-from families with children, to an international mix of owners who bring warmth and character to the building. Pied-à-terres are welcome, and parents may purchase with children, offering flexibility for many lifestyles. The Harridge has an incredible convenient location because Whole Foods is in front and Duane Reade is at the corner.

The building features a live-in superintendent, two state-of-the-art laundry rooms, bike storage, private storage rooms, and a rooftop sundeck with glorious views. A garage within the building, accessible to residents and their guests, adds another layer of everyday convenience.

Subletting is permitted after approximately five years of ownership, for one year with an option to renew for a second year to the same tenant, subject to board approval. Cats are allowed, while dogs are not. Maintenance includes A/C, Electric, Gas, Water, Heat & Windows.

APPOINTMENTS NEED TO BE SET BY FRIDAY AT 5PM. WE NEED TO SEND THE LIST TO MANAGEMENT. THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING

This is more than an apartment.

It is a place where love once lived-and where a new story is ready to begin.

Midtown East | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Midtown West and Midtown East have a lot in common. They’re bustling, iconic, and full of people. But just like siblings, their personalities can be vastly different. Midtown East is a bit more sophisticated and doesn’t quite have the vivacity and unruliness that its westerly counterpart exudes.

Midtown East is bordered by 42nd to the south, 59th Street to the north, 5th Avenue to the west, and 3rd Avenue to the east.

The neighborhood is famous for its high-end stores, tourist attractions, posh hotels (budget ones too), and iconic architecture. Midtown East is also one of the largest financial and business hubs in Manhattan. During normal business hours the sidewalks are full of commuters and people moving from point A to point B. In the early evening, when the masses have left for the day, things suddenly get a little quieter and the sidewalks have a lot less foot traffic.

Although largely a commercial neighborhood, residential areas of Midtown East do exist on the eastern section of the neighborhood.

Grand Central Station is located in Midtown East and like Midtown West, it’s an extremely commutable neighborhood. The 4, 5, 6, 7 and S trains whisk people in and out of the neighborhood 24 hours a day. Grand Central Station also serves as a hub for New York State and Connecticut commuter rails. These trains can take you anywhere along the Hudson River or up into Connecticut. It’s perfect for day tripping.
