Property Description for 1198 Jefferson Ave, B

Tucked away on a peaceful, tree-lined stretch of the avenue, 1198 Jefferson brings a boutique collection of just four residences to one of the neighborhood's most charming corridors. With classic Brooklyn character and a sense of tranquility that feels rare in the city, this address offers a quiet retreat while keeping Bushwick's lively energy within reach. All residences are floor-through, north and south-facing homes with generous square footage and private outdoor space, most of which have private storage rooms included.

Unit B is a massive 2-bedroom, 2-bath home featuring a sweeping floor plan as well as a lovely Juliet balcony. Wide plank white oak floors run throughout the home, and all of the living spaces are open, airy, and light-filled. There's also a beautiful finished rooftop space with scenic 360-degree views as far as the eye can see.

The main great room is generously proportioned, easily accommodating a large dining table and a variety of living room furniture configurations. Discreetly tucked away off the main living space is a utility closet housing a conveniently stackable LG washer/dryer. An additional double-wide front hall closet provides ample storage space with built-in shelving, and its Shaker-style doors add a stylish touch. The galley kitchen is warm and inviting, with stunning custom cabinetry and a high-end stainless appliance package.

The first full bath is serene and beautifully appointed, offering a quiet space for relaxation. Neutrally hued, large format tiles add to the tranquility of the space. The primary bedroom features an expansive, elongated layout, providing ample space to comfortably accommodate a king-size bed. A large walk-in closet provides abundant storage space, and the ensuite bathroom features a floating vanity with additional storage and a sizable shower. The secondary bedroom is equally spacious, with its own walk-in closet and Juliet balcony. Both bedrooms offer gorgeous views of the deck.

Residents of 1198 Jefferson Avenue are surrounded by local favorites, including Phil's, Father Knows Best, Irving General, Money Cat, Fazio's, Tikal Cafe, Caffeine Underground, Bar Cornelia, and Halsey Ale House. Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
