Property Description for 40 Harrison Street, 409-H

Space is the rare luxury in downtown Manhattan, and this two-bedroom has it. Rooms that hold real furniture, a layout that doesn't ask you to compromise, and hardwood floors running throughout to tie it all together. The kitchen is the kind you actually want to cook in elegant cabinetry, handsome countertops, and stainless steel appliances that pull their weight. The bathroom has been brought fully up to date, with clean modern finishes that feel considered rather than builder-standard.Then there's the balcony: private outdoor space, which in Tribeca is less an amenity than a small miracle. It's where the morning coffee happens, where the phone call gets taken, where a long day finally lets go.Independence Plaza rises 39 stories above the Tribeca waterfront and delivers the rest a 24-hour doorman, fitness center, swimming pool, children's playroom, on-site parking and storage, and a live-in superintendent. Step outside to cobblestone streets, cast-iron facades, and some of the best dining and shopping in the city, with the 1 train at Franklin Street minutes away and the Hudson River Greenway just across the West Side Highway.*This advertisement is for informational purposes only. Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
