Property Description for 323 Bergen Street, 217-E

Welcome to Residence 217E at Bergen, a beautifully appointed south-facing studio in the heart of Boerum Hill. Filled with natural light and enhanced by 9-foot ceilings, the residence pairs an efficient, flexible layout with the elevated materials and thoughtful detailing that define this distinctive new development.

The interiors, designed by AD100 design studio Workstead, bring warmth and refinement to every element of the home. A sophisticated palette of natural materials creates a calm, residential atmosphere, while the open great room offers ample flexibility for separate living, dining, and sleeping areas.

The kitchen is both understated and exceptionally crafted, featuring custom white oak cabinetry and coordinating hardware complemented by honed Taj Mahal quartzite countertops, backsplash, and ledge. A suite of integrated Bosch appliances maintains the kitchen's clean architectural lines while allowing the richness of the cabinetry and stonework to take center stage.

The bathroom continues the home's warm, spa-inspired aesthetic with honed Crema Vanilla marble across the walls and floors. A custom white oak vanity is topped with matching Crema Vanilla marble, while the soaking tub is finished with a marble deck and skirt. Radiant heated floors and custom Workstead lighting complete the space.

Located on a picturesque, tree-lined block in Boerum Hill, Bergen is a collection of 105 residences designed by internationally acclaimed architect Frida Escobedo. The building's striking facade offers a contemporary interpretation of the neighborhood's iconic bay-window brownstones. Handmade geometric modules create an interplay of depth, light, and shadow while giving the building a distinctive architectural identity.

Bergen offers an extensive collection of indoor and outdoor amenities centered around wellness, creativity, and community. At the heart of the building is the Glass House, connecting the East and West residential wings and multiple amenity levels through a sculptural circular staircase.

Residents enjoy a full-time attended lobby, a ceramic studio in partnership with BKLYN Clay, a private landscaped park, and two beautifully designed communal roof terraces featuring gas grills and fire pits. The outdoor spaces, designed by DXA Studio and Patrick Cullina, provide peaceful places to relax, gather, and enjoy the surrounding neighborhood.

Residence 217E offers an opportunity to experience exceptional design, craftsmanship, and modern Brooklyn living within one of Boerum Hill's most thoughtfully designed new developments.

Boerum Hill | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Boerum Hill is a tiny, quiet, primarily residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. There are broad tree-lined streets that are filled with elegant three and four-story brownstones and townhouses, mostly built between 1840 and 1870. There is a definite family vibe to the neighborhood, but young professionals are moving in, and with them are coming trendy bars to cater to their desire for some measure of nightlife, without having to linger in Manhattan. These new bars and restaurants are being sandwiched in amongst existing shops on both Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street, which are the main commercial areas in Boerum Hill.

Boerum Hill offers a convenient location that is still able to maintain its small-neighborhood feel. Shopkeepers value their customers and remember their regulars. It continues to do what it was designed to do, namely provide small-town living in the very shadow of the big city. Boerum Hill is an easy commute to other parts of the city, making it easy to come home every day to the peace and tranquility of Boerum Hill while commuting to a job anywhere in the city.

The neighborhood is quite walkable and you can take the time to catch up with your neighbors while visiting on their stoops. Shopping on Atlantic Avenue is stress-free with no high pressure. You can meet with friends at any of the many coffee shops and while away pleasant hours in conversation. The dining scene on Smith Street is similarly laid-back. Don’t expect that there will be quite as much to see or do as there is in Manhattan, but there are a decent number of interesting bars and restaurants providing a measure of nightlife. The trade-off is worth it, as Boerum Hill provides a quiet, peaceful place to live and raise a family.
