If you've been waiting for a move-in ready oversized 2 bed/2bath modern home, this is the apartment for you!

The living room, primary bedroom and corner dining room feature large picture windows that flood the apartment with sun and provide wide open views of the East River, from the 59th Street Bridge all the way downtown. The secondary bedroom and even the kitchen also have great views. The views are simply spectacular by day and absolutely magical at night with the twinkling city lights reflected on the river.

But aside from these amazing views, you'll have an amazing apartment too! Every inch has been meticulously renovated with a cohesive design that respects the midcentury modern aesthetic of the building and elevates the features and finishes to the highest modern standards of today. Beautiful built-in cabinetry and storage throughout will highlight your art, house your entertainment equipment and provide discreet workspace, complemented by matching wood paneling and trim and custom lighting.

The gracious layout is ideal for luxurious living and entertaining. With an elegant entry foyer, split bedroom plan, large living room and kitchen open to the corner dining room with windows on two sides. The definition of "great flow!"

The kitchen itself is a master work in design and function, where custom cabinets, professional appliances, seemingly endless stone countertops provide the backdrop for your culinary artistry. Opening to the adjacent dining room which can seat 8 or more, and to the living room beyond, this layout exactly what buyers are looking for today.

The primary suite is a true sanctuary, with a large bedroom, extensive closet space and a beautiful bathroom including an oversized shower with rainfall showerhead, all against the backdrop of those amazing river views. The second bedroom is also a delight, with extensive built-ins and dramatic paneled ceiling, adjacent to the second bathroom, which is also beautifully renovated.

Sutton Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Sutton Place is usually described with favorable words like charming, cozy, great neighborhood, hidden gem, sanctuary, or even small village inside a big city. Those descriptions aren’t from real estate folks either, they’re from the people that live and work there, so it must be true.

The quiet and upscale neighborhood is more like an enclave. It’s bounded by East 53rd Street to the south, East 59th Street to the North, First Avenue to the west, and the East River to the east. Most residents will tell you that everything you’ll ever need is located in the neighborhood. When it’s time to venture out into the cityscape, Sutton Place is within easy reach to Midtown and cultural attractions like the Museum of Modern Art, Rockefeller Center, Central Park and other iconic sites.

Manhattan has always had notable celebrity residents. But for unknown reasons, Sutton Place has had more than its share of superstars over the years. Some of the more iconic celebs include: Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller, Freddie Mercury, Sigourney Weaver, Joan Crawford, Michael Jackson and sister Latoya (Just for one summer).

Sutton Place is named after Effingham B. Sutton, a shipping merchant and entrepreneur. After hitting it big in the California gold rush, Sutton built brownstones along East 57th and East 58th streets with aspirations of making the section more residential. Poverty and crime dashed his dreams. The street gangs that hung out along the dead-ends and cul-de-sacs added to the neighborhood’s decay. Sutton was about to give up on his development endeavors but the Vanderbilt’s and the Morgan’s showed up in the 1920s and transformed the neighborhood. It soon became a wealthy enclave.
