Property Description for 323 East 8th Street, 2-A

Welcome to this charming, sun-filled junior one-bedroom in the heart of the East Village, just steps from Tompkins Square Park. Located only one flight up on a quiet, tree-lined street, this south-facing home offers a peaceful residential setting surrounded by everything that makes the East Village one of Manhattan’s most vibrant neighborhoods. The apartment features a spacious open-concept living and kitchen area with approximately 9.5-foot ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors, and oversized windows that fill the home with natural light. The recently updated open kitchen is both stylish and functional, featuring stainless steel appliances, a new dishwasher, and natural stone countertops. A separate, dual-windowed sleeping chamber provides privacy and makes excellent use of the space. A custom-built loft bed creates substantial additional storage below, complemented by overhead shelving and built-in clothing racks. An exposed brick wall adds the classic downtown character that makes this home distinctly East Village. The building offers an on-call superintendent and convenient basement laundry with two washers and two dryers. With a largely owner-occupied community, the building has a welcoming and well-maintained residential feel. And then there’s the location. Tompkins Square Park is at the end of the block, offering green space, recreation, and year-round neighborhood events. Just beyond the park, St. Marks Place and the surrounding East Village put an incredible selection of restaurants, cafés, bars, shops, and nightlife within easy reach—all while the apartment itself remains tucked away on a quiet residential block. The L and F subway lines are minutes away, with several Citi Bike stations nearby. Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Target are all approximately a 10-minute walk away, along with countless neighborhood markets and delis. Equinox, the YMCA, CorePower Yoga, and numerous local fitness studios are also nearby. A thoughtfully designed home combining sunlight, character, functionality, and an exceptional East Village location. Housing Choice Vouchers Welcome | Se Aceptan Vales de Elección de Vivienda

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
