Property Description for 20 Pine Street, 908

Residence 908 is a dramatic corner loft where Downtown history meets contemporary luxury, with soaring 11-foot beamed ceilings, oversized proportions, and a direct view of one of New York City's most recognizable landmarks.

Spanning approximately 1,208 square feet, this oversized one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath residence was originally designed by Armani/Casa and has since been extensively upgraded by the current owners.

The iconic view of the New York Stock Exchange from the corner living and dining area immediately commands attention. It is a fitting perspective from 20 Pine Street, a building originally constructed as the headquarters of the Chase National Bank, an institution that would ultimately become part of today's JPMorgan Chase. Just outside, the New York Stock Exchange and the surrounding streets have served as the center of American finance for more than two centuries, giving the view a sense of history that few New York residences can replicate.

Inside, the scale of the home is equally impressive. Whether hosting friends, working from home, or enjoying a quiet evening, the expansive living and dining space adapts effortlessly to everyday life.

The kitchen opens seamlessly into the living area, creating a layout that feels connected without sacrificing functionality. Thoughtfully integrated appliances and clean, timeless finishes complement the home's understated elegance.

The current owners have invested extensively in upgrades designed to elevate everyday living. The primary bathroom has been transformed into a spa-like retreat with premium stonework, a Jacuzzi air tub, smart mirror, and designer fixtures. Motorized shades, upgraded lighting, a new washer and dryer, and a built-in 120-inch projection screen complete a home that has been thoughtfully improved rather than simply maintained.

For buyers thinking long-term, Residence 908 also presents the rare opportunity to potentially combine with the neighboring residence, creating an expansive home approaching 1,900 square feet, subject to the appropriate approvals.

For those seeking Downtown luxury without compromising on space, comfort, or quality, Residence 908 offers something increasingly difficult to find: the scale of a true loft, the conveniences of a full-service luxury condominium, and a front-row seat to the history of Wall Street.

Financial District | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The Financial District (FiDi) today is a bit of a hybrid neighborhood, as the residential component continues to grow in an area that has been historically dominated by the financial and insurance industries. The residential experiment, which began more than two decades ago, continues to evolve in an area with a large concentration of older, large office buildings. Developers have taken to these aged buildings and have re-positioned them as residential properties. In turn, the public spaces, services and retail establishments needed for a thriving residential neighborhood have followed making this an important destination for city residents.

Since 2000, the residential population of the Financial District has nearly tripled in size from about 23,000 residents to more than 60,000 inhabitants. Many of the residential pioneers to FiDi were people attracted to the lower rents in the neighborhood, particularly the post-collegiate crowd. While the millennials still maintain a large footprint here, there are plenty of families that now consider the Wall Street area home.

Many of those that live in the Financial District walk to work. If you reside here and need to commute elsewhere, the transportation from here is about as good as it gets. Express trains can take you to Midtown, either east or west, in twenty minutes. Brooklyn is but a single subway stop away. There are also ferries across to Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.
