Property Description for 502 Prospect Ave

In the heart of Windsor Terrace, this beautifully maintained three-unit townhouse offers grand proportions, a flexible layout, and an exceptional location. Measuring approximately 20 x 58 feet and offering more than 4,000 square feet across four floors, the home is currently configured with a generous lower duplex and two spacious two-bedroom apartments above. The fabulous layout maximizes living space as well as income potential!

The duplex has its own private entrance on the lower level and has been thoughtfully renovated throughout. On the upper floor, you'll find the main living space and primary bedroom suite. A wall of south-facing windows fills the open living and dining area with wonderful natural light, while a glass door leads directly to the charming back garden. With plenty of room for both living and dining, the space feels open, airy, and inviting.

The custom kitchen offers abundant work and storage space, with cabinetry and open shelving extending all the way to the ceiling. Stainless steel appliances include a Bosch microwave, Liebherr refrigerator, Miele dishwasher, and Avanti range.

Pass through the welcoming upper foyer to the generously proportioned primary bedroom. Large windows bring in lovely light, while a full wall of closets provides excellent storage. The renovated en suite bath features a walk-in shower and clean, modern finishes and fixtures. A stackable washer/dryer is conveniently located just outside the bedroom, and rich hardwood floors run throughout the floor.

The lower level offers two additional rooms - one currently used as a family room/den, the other used as a bedroom. As well as a bath with a charming clawfoot tub and separate walk-in shower. There is also a dedicated home office area and an impressive amount of thoughtfully designed built-in storage. Ductless mini-splits provide cooling throughout the duplex.

The upper two floors each contain an exceptionally roomy floor-through two-bedroom apartment. Both share the same well-designed layout, with split bedrooms, a large primary bedroom, a generously sized renovated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a renovated bath, and an enormous walk-in closet with an in-unit washer/dryer. High ceilings, hardwood floors, and windows at both ends of each apartment bring in wonderful light and add to the sense of space.

Set in the heart of Windsor Terrace, the house is just one block from Prospect Park West and its neighborhood shops, restaurants, and conveniences, one block from the subway, and only three blocks from Prospect Park. With more than 4,000 square feet, three substantial residences, a private garden, and an incredibly convenient location, this is a rare opportunity to own a truly versatile Brooklyn townhouse.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
