Property Description for 960 Sterling Place, 4-F

Welcome to Unit 4F at 960 Sterling Place, where prewar charm, generous proportions, and a true sense of community come together in the heart of northwest Crown Heights. No Board Approval is required with this spacious and newly renovated two-bedroom sponsor unit! This lovely home offers the kind of space and thoughtful layout that's increasingly hard to find in Brooklyn. A gracious entry foyer opens into an expansive living and dining area, with hardwood floors, high ceilings, large windows, and abundant closet space throughout. The windowed kitchen is modern in design and opens directly to the living space, creating an easy flow for everyday living and entertaining. Sleek black matte fixtures, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances with dishwasher and microwave, a farmhouse sink with a gooseneck faucet and pull down sprayer, and ample shaker-style cabinetry in a warm creamy tone complete the space. A separate pantry provides additional storage. Both bedrooms are generously proportioned and privately positioned away from the main living area. The larger bedroom offers multiple closets and plenty of room for additional furniture, while the second bedroom provides flexibility for guests, a home office, or additional sleeping space. The bathroom is ultra-clean with large format terrazzo tile, additional storage, and other thoughtful modern updates. 960 Sterling Place is a well-maintained elevator cooperative with a live-in superintendent, laundry room, bike storage, additional storage options, a Butterfly virtual doorman system, and a beautifully landscaped shared courtyard garden. Located in the northwest corner of the Crown Heights Historic District, you're surrounded by tree-lined streets and beautiful brownstones, with Brower Park, the Brooklyn Children's Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Prospect Park, and the Brooklyn Public Library all nearby. Nostrand Avenue's vibrant collection of cafés, restaurants, and shops is also just moments away, and multiple subway lines provide an easy commute to Manhattan or anywhere else you want to go. If you're looking for a spacious two-bedroom with prewar character, modern updates, and a flexible layout in the heart of Crown Heights, 4F is ready to welcome you home. Offered by Prospectus Only.

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
