Property Description for 31-37 North Moore Street, 2-E

Your private keyed elevator opens directly into a full-floor residence on North Moore Street, one of Tribeca's most coveted blocks. With 3,854 square feet on a single level, this home combines the generous scale of a classic apartment with the open, voluminous feel of a true loft.

A gracious entry gallery opens into an expansive great room, filled with natural light from more than 50 feet of south-facing frontage on North Moore Street. From there, the home flows into a large formal dining area and a chef's kitchen, a layout made for entertaining.

Currently configured as a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home with a home office, the layout easily accommodates a fourth bedroom, as other residences with this floor plan at the Merchants House have done. A split-wing design places the primary suite privately on the west end, with two generously sized secondary bedrooms on the east. A dedicated alcove houses a home gym.

A wood-burning fireplace and two-zone central air keep the home comfortable year-round. Along with abundant closet space, the apartment comes with a large deeded storage unit.

The Merchants House is a meticulously maintained boutique condominium with a virtual doorman and video intercom.

Note: The advertised real estate taxes reflect the full, unabated monthly amount. Those who qualify for the condo/co-op primary residence abatement may see a reduced tax rate

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
