Property Description for 234 East 14th Street, 5-D

I like to play a game with NYC apartments– it goes like this: if something were to happen, and I could not leave this block, could I survive? A day? A week? A month? With this apartment the answer is FOREVER-- It’s got: an arcade, bakeries, barbershop, bodegas, boba, coffee, juice and alcohol bars, a comedy theater, a drug store, dry cleaners, doctors, food food food food food foooooooood, a gym, a locksmith, a nail salon, urgent care, wellness center, and even a vintage shop!Yet step inside and you’ll find a quiet sanctuary with no trace of the city that lies outside. This bright, spacious one-bedroom apartment sits at the back of the 5th floor of the elevator building with south and east exposures. Enter into a spacious living room with exposed brick, decorative fireplace with mantle and a coat closet. Brand new tile floors in the eat-in-kitchen with real wood countertops, stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher and full-size fridge and range. Also full is the bath, also newly renovated with carrera marble tile. Opposite the bathroom is a large walk-in closet. Then, a french door accesses the large bedroom that will easily fit a king size bed and more, a ceiling fan and large custom closet. That’s 3 (THREE) closets-- plenty of storage for all the things you'll win at that arcade. And because you CAN leave the block, there’s a Trader Joe’s to the left, a Whole Foods to the right and everything Union Square and the East Village have to offer. Easy access to the L, the 4,5,6 Q, R and W trains which get you pretty much anywhere else you could ever want to go, if you ever wanted to.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
