Property Description for 185 Prospect Park Southwest, 309

Two apartments were combined to make this sprawling, roomy, and substantial apartment at a price point that is usually reserved for smaller places. Three real bedrooms, two full baths, and a large separate interior room off the primary bedroom that can be used as a dressing room or an oversized office. Throw a pull out couch in there and boom, it’s a guest room. Put the Peloton in and it’s an exercise room. However you choose to use it, this room is an extra bonus– lined with closets and the perfect spot for a full workstation with printer and book shelves. All three bedrooms are roomy with large closet space. The apartment flows easily and has an excellent separation of space with all rooms anchored around the enormous center great room. The great room encompasses the fully renovated open kitchen with quartz countertops, large breakfast bar and tons of storage, as well as the large living area and the dedicated separate dining area, which has seating for eight and enough room to have all your friends and family over for the Super Bowl. Both bathrooms have been tastefully renovated to luxuriate in. Located directly across the street from Prospect Park, putting miles of scenic paths, open green spaces, and recreational opportunities right outside your door. The building is a pet-friendly, elevator co-op with a superduper on-site super and staff, a shared garden with a barbecue area, renovated laundry room, bike storage, and private storage, subject to waitlist and extra fee. On-site parking is available through a waitlist also subject to waitlist for an additional fee. The F/G at Fort Hamilton Parkway is less than 5 minutes away. So are The Elk, Le Paddock, Poetica, and Windsors newest addition, The Cat, featuring live music and small plates for a relaxing Sunday afternoon after the open house. Krupa, Ladybird Bakery, Brancaccios, Hamiltons, Batata, Hilltop Tavern, The Nitehawk, and the Bartel-Pritchard Square Greenmarket are also just a short walk away making the location the perfect spot to experience the best of all Brooklyn.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
