Property Description for 137 Duane Street, 5-A

CLASSIC TRIBECA LOFT BOHEMIAN CHIC AT THE DIAMOND ON DUANE
Nearly 2,200 Square Feet of Authentic Loft Living Available Mid-November
A rare opportunity to experience authentic Tribeca loft living in a sprawling, sun-drenched residence brimming with character, history, and understated charm.
Encompassing nearly 2,200 square feet, this quintessential downtown loft captures the bohemian spirit of old New York. Soaring 12-foot pressed-tin ceilings, exposed brick walls, painted hardwood floors, and oversized windows create a dramatic yet inviting atmosphere. Original architectural details abound, lending the space a timeless quality that is increasingly difficult to find.
The expansive living and dining area offers grand proportions and remarkable flexibility, equally suited to entertaining or simply enjoying the luxury of space. Two generously scaled bedrooms, abundant storage, and an in-unit washer and dryer provide everyday practicality without compromising the loft's distinctive character.
The kitchen and bathroom are modest and functional, in keeping with the home's vintage aesthetic. This is not a cookie-cutter renovation, but rather an authentic Tribeca loft that celebrates its history, imperfections, and unmistakable personality.
Grand yet understated, effortlessly chic, and wonderfully nostalgic, this is downtown loft living as it was meant to be.
Located in The Diamond on Duane, a boutique condominium on one of Tribeca's most charming streets, the building features a key-locked elevator and Butterfly video intercom system. Surrounded by historic architecture, celebrated restaurants, independent boutiques, and neighborhood favorites, this prime South Tribeca location offers the very best of downtown Manhattan, with convenient access to multiple subway lines.
Available mid-November. Two-year lease preferred. Pets considered on a case-by-case basis.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
